It'd have to go to the Smiths for me.
Can't believe how many people have said the fall. Awful band, and Mark E Smith is one of the most horrible loathsome men on earth. Fully deserving of the slap I once administered to him.

The Fall are not awful,although I grant you MES can be a bell end on occasion.

I used to like(and still listen to) 'New Fast Automatic Daffodils'. I saw this Manchester indie band three times in the early nineties before they slipped back into obscurity. They had their own style and unique sound and could of made it big, but maybe were a bit 'too' indie for the mainstream charts. I also saw Pulp support supporting them at 'Peace hall' Halifax in '92.
