I wouldn't say Nirvana/Oasis/Kings Of Leon are overrated, they're just marmite bands. Love em or hate em.
I don't get the hate for Oasis though, personally I don't find their music similar enough to the Beatles (whom I've never been that keen on) to label them a 'tribute act', and think that people get on their backs because; A) they think Liam is a twat (agreed tbf) and; B) because it seems cool to hate on Oasis.
Arctic Monkeys aren't overrated either, as most people don't rate them too highly anymore after they seemed to let the fame go to their heads. They're still a good band imo but they have gone massively downhill, no denying that.
My vote goes to U2 by a country mile though. They've had a few good songs but fuck me, just cause Bono likes Africa doesn't make him a fucking God lol

They're a marmite band. I can really understand why so many people love them, but I'm not into them. Old enough!? Im only 20.
They put out so much and yes some is a bit crap but you put together 20 of their best and its as good as british music gets.
All in my opinion of course.
