Andy Burnham

As a public transport user on all the main companies, the bus thing pisses me off.

Though burnhams not alone, my MP Azfal Khan said he would get a tram going through gorton, so the twat better hurry up before the GE ;-) although cannot blame him as the city was desperate for another route to media city and trafford, the 3 already is obviously not enough

I suppose the trams come down to money and as much sense as it makes to have great public transport if there is no will to invest it wont happen. Ideally I would love to see public transport made free across Greater Manchester but only when the proper infrastructure is in place, including a tram line to Gorton, through Reddish and onto Stockport and maybe a circular tram route that connects all the boroughs of GM, a bit like the M60 does.

That's a little undemocratic isn't it? I assume you'd be angry if the Tories stopped Labour holding their conference in, say, Harrogate?

I would be delighted if the Tories did that.

The Labour conference is in Brighton

Trams are more logistically harder in gorton, Leve etc as it it densley populated by old terrace streets and hyde rd is too narrow at points.

Funny thing is they tested metrolink on the old railway line which is now the fallowfield loop, they should have kept the route as it would have joined debdale to chorltons covering leve, gorton, near reddish, fallowfield and could have linked up with the snipe and chorlton stations.

We are getting the train/tram option running through belle view.

They should never have closed the zoo and got rid of the amusement park

He's at Tory Party Conference today speaking at a fringe meeting.
