Andy Carroll not good enough for us?

The placement of his header was excellent. Lescott made a mistake, but Joe Hart was covering the goal well. I thought Carroll did very well considering his team's mindlessly myopic strategy of trying to cross the ball in to him every time.

Upside is that Carroll is an Englishman and would never want away due to homesickness. If only he didn't beat women. :-|
 
I get the impression he's one of those who could become very good or fade into obscurity. The only trouble is that for the life of me I don't know whaich way he'll go. There have been fairly few players over the years (especially strikers) who you have been able to tell for certain from early on that they would become real class. There have been many more who have looked like they will but never quite have.
 
Wasn`t too sure of him at first, looked the stereotypical `donkey centre forward` to me with not much to his game other than being good in the air, but over the last 18 months he`s started to develop his overall game ( even moreso in the last six months in the Premier League), he actually has a decent touch and far better on the ground as a result, as pointed out, Newcastle play to his strengths so automatically we see him have a positive impact on the game, my only thoughts would be how he would fit into a Mancini team right now, yes he has Premier League experience, but it`s with a team who play a totally different way to us.

I think Mancini would develop him into a cracking player given time though, Personally I`d prefer Dzeko, he just does everything better with the exception of his aerial ability but he`s probably not too far off Carrol in that department either, wouldn`t say no to him though, he has a lot of potential and he`s getting better all the time
 
Said for a while now, this lad is the Nads and i would fkin love it if he signed for us, he be to us what Big Dunc was to Evtn, a true Ledge, i mean, he would'nt be throwin' a hissy fit if substituted or throwing himself to the floor when merely tackled or even non-aknowledgement of the fans, he'd be great for us.

Not really rated him that much but yesterday he was very good. Showed he was good in the air and on the ground.

Personally I'd prefer Dzenko, although I haven't seen him play it seems he has a more footballing brain, rather than woman beating.

Carrol may turn out very similar to Joey Barton, but better...or worse.

The way the list should be in the window. Can't get one go for the other. But if we got Carroll he'd need to get rid of the ponytail.
