Andy Cole has a go at us

What a knobhead! His son plays for us but obviously Cole doesn't watch us much and cherry picks our worst performances to prove his "point". Complete and utter tool. "Here you must score goals" - we scored more than Spurs, you bellend.

Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole feels that Manchester City are not quite good enough to win a Premier League title.

The 39-year old, who won five titles at Old Trafford, believes that the style of football played under Roberto Mancini will not cut it although he does predict that the Citizens will surely be up and around the mark for years to come.

"They'll be up there, but challenging realistically to win it playing the way they do?" said Cole. "I don't think the Premier League can be won the way they play football.

"You can't go to the Emirates, come away with a draw, and think that's a good result.

"Manchester United can't come to Eastlands with you sitting back and being delighted with a draw when you're the home team.

"We're totally different to the Italian league. Here, you must score goals, people want to be on the edge of their seats.

"The Barclays Premier League is the most exciting league in the world and goals are what it's about. Mancini's Italian and you can't see him changing his mindset.

"They wanted to finish in the Champions league spots this season, fair enough. But if they're saying they want to win the Premier league...playing like that?!

"Let's be brutally honest, I don't think any team can win the Premier league playing like that."

He's right to a point. We will need to score a lot more goals in future seasons to win the league. [OP what the fuck have Spurs got to do with anything? Yes we've scored more than them but the last time they won the league was 50 years ago so they shouldn't enter this debate whatsoever!] In the last 10 seasons the winners of the league scored 79, 79, 74, 73, 72, 72, 83, 80, 68, 103, 74(one game to play).. We've scored 58 goals this season with one game to play. We are going to have to be more attacking, more ruthless, more dynamic, more exciting, more creative, less wasteful, quicker, harder, faster, stronger... to challenge for the title next season. Or is everyones heads too far up your arses to realise those facts?

The way he's gone about saying it is shit, but he's not talking about that we're not good enough to achieve what we've achieved this season - which is what it appears every single post in this thread has read it as - he's talking about winning the league!

He's still a Rag **** though!

Perhaps I'm wrong but that just seems racist to me, if your italian you must play defensive football? If your italian you have to go for 1-0 results?

Quite frankly one of the most ridiculous posts in a long time on BM.

-- Sat May 21, 2011 7:11 am --

Mancini said at the begining of the season that it would take time for the team to gel & in the meantime how crucial it was that we DIDN'T lose points against our main competitors and this is exactly what he tried to do by any means neccessary.

At the begining of next season all that will be remembered is:

Qualified for Champions League
FA Cup winners 2011

At this stage of our development how we got there is unimportant. At times this season function has triumphed over style, but Mancini has used what he's got to get us to where we needed to be, in the Premier European competition with a major trophy as a garnish.

Rome wasn't built in a day nor even 18 months which is how long Mancini has been here Andy, & if you need qualification of that fact just ask your old boss how long it took him to land his 1st piece of silverware & 1st league title.

1 point v them
3 points v chelsea
1 point v arsenal
3 points v red scouse

Not exactly great, but we are where we wanted to be.

Always hated the twat since he had a nose to nose with Keith Curle in the F.A. Cup replay at Maine RD, which we won btw.

We haven't scored as many goals as we should have, but Christ, how many good chances have we missed this season? I'd say in the second half of the season we have created chances for fun, but converting them has let us down. Stoke at Wembley, Everton away, West Ham home, Blackburn/Birmingham home etc

Not at all mate. Bar a handful of games this season I've loved the way we have played.

Andy Cole is thick as fuck though, there are far too many contradictions in that statement.
