Andy Cole has a go at us

Andy cole is spot on, you can't win the prem playing the Italian way, luckily bob now knows this and he has seen us win the fa cup through proper football.

We are going to murder teams next season.

Ps.
ANY team will take a point at arsenal.

Is this "Italian Way" the way all those Italian teams regularly used to dump the rags out of the CL in the quarters because if it is then "It'll do for me Tommy"

Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole feels that Manchester City are not quite good enough to win a Premier League title.

The 39-year old, who won five titles at Old Trafford, believes that the style of football played under Roberto Mancini will not cut it although he does predict that the Citizens will surely be up and around the mark for years to come.

"They'll be up there, but challenging realistically to win it playing the way they do?" said Cole. "I don't think the Premier League can be won the way they play football.

"You can't go to the Emirates, come away with a draw, and think that's a good result.

"Manchester United can't come to Eastlands with you sitting back and being delighted with a draw when you're the home team.

"We're totally different to the Italian league. Here, you must score goals, people want to be on the edge of their seats.

"The Barclays Premier League is the most exciting league in the world and goals are what it's about. Mancini's Italian and you can't see him changing his mindset.

"They wanted to finish in the Champions league spots this season, fair enough. But if they're saying they want to win the Premier league...playing like that?!

"Let's be brutally honest, I don't think any team can win the Premier league playing like that."

Really shows what a moron he is! Didn't Manure win the league whilst getting beat at Arsenal... prick!

I think he's referring to the mentality of thinking a draw against the big teams is a good result and I agree with him. Mancini has definitely sent the team out to play negatively in this type of game this season and has been happy with a draw. To be fair to him though, he's got the job done this season so you can't criticize him too much for it. Next season his target will be to win the League (imo), and what Cole is driving at is your mentality should be to try to win every game. Doesn't always work like that, in fact it's impossible to win every game, but that has to be the approach. I'm hopeful that with some quality additions in the summer, Mancini will be confident enough in his players to play with more freedom next season and, if he does, we've got a cracking chance of winning the title. Can't wait for next season to start tbh.

Well,if it isn't one of those 'some nasty man is saying bad things about my beloved City' thread again.
Do we really need to rise to the bait every time some has-been or hack has a go?
Rise above the jibes and learn to laugh at the haters - you'll live longer, and lead happier lives.
The very fact that they are having a pop means that we are under their skin, and that they are afraid the cozy football world order is changing, which it is,as we rearrange the furniture to suit a light blue colour scheme.

Liverpool beat all the top teams the year they finished second, so saying you need to go to the bridge, the emirates and the swamp and win is bollocks!

He is and always will be one step below chuckle brother no 1 in the ranking of vermin shitheads who I happen to dislike.

To be fair to "Andrew", there was a period around xmas where Bobby said he was happy with draws against the top 4. He didn't say that he was going to employ those tactics for the rest of his career, but around that period with the injuries, a draw at the Emirates was okay. Alot of people on here went batshit mental about it and slagged him off bigstyle. In hindsight, Andy's comments are 5 months out of date, but he was never the sharpest tool in the box.

the rag based media are bricking it, you can smell the fear.
this 'boring' tag for City is all geared for when we win the prem in the next 2 years.

they did the same with chelsea and blackburn and even wengers first title winning team when they had vieira and petite in midfield. i remember purple noses quote when arsenal won it..." we play the better football "
to which wenger replied .."yeah and every man thinks he married to the most beautiful woman in the world"

in their bitter, biased eyes the rags are the only team who play attractive football.

Mancini’s Italian and you can’t see him changing his mindset.

So Mr. Cole, you're basing this purely on our Manager's nationality?

Absolute nonsense, one of the best attacking players I've ever seen in this league is Italian (Zola), and Mancini himself was an attacking player.

We leaked alot of goals over the years, Mancini's approach has been to get us tighter at the back, and he has achieved this this season with our goalkeeper getting the Golden Gloves award.

Yes there is a national stereotype for how the Italians like to play their football, but there are many other stereotypes based on one's ethnicity, and I'm sure one of the first people to be annoyed at such stereotypes would be Mr. Andrew Cole.

Just because someone is English, doesn't mean they will be a Terry Butcher/vinnie Jones type player, or just because someone is Italian it doesn't mean they will just defend, defend and continually defend until you fall asleep.

We need an excellent tactician, he is one, sure he gets it wrong - but so does the best manager ever to grace the league - Ferguson.

So Mr. Cole, just remind me how many times the boring Italians have won the world cup or indeed made the final?

Cock.
