March 1990First season back in division 1 wasn't it? 89/90
He would have been. He managed their FA Cup defeat in 91 vs Spurs.March 1990
Forest 1-0 City - had to google it (or i wouldnt sleep tonight)
Wonder if Clough was manager at the time?
Pretty sure, without googling it, that Shay Given (in his barcodes days) got done like that. Put the ball down to dribble it to the edge of the box before launching it. Never looked behind him, and an opposition player came from behind (Oo-err) him, robbed the ball and tapped it into the empty goal.Good old Andy Dibble, hope he’s doing well whatever he’s up to.
The Dibble incident spawned the now omnipresent habit of keepers checking over their shoulders when holding the ball in the box
As an aside I miss the D d d d d d Dibble Dibble Dibble Dibble Dibble song when coppers are encountered at games, not heard it for years. It would probably be categorised as a hate crime now I suppose.
Don’t say that.Just imagine the furore had it happened to a certain team that plays in red.
Kendall was manager, so I’d say early 1990.Take a bow sir.
Can you remember the year & result without googling?
