Andy Dibble v Gary Crosby

Pretty sure, without googling it, that Shay Given (in his barcodes days) got done like that. Put the ball down to dribble it to the edge of the box before launching it. Never looked behind him, and an opposition player came from behind (Oo-err) him, robbed the ball and tapped it into the empty goal.

Was it against Spurs?
It was Dion Dublin for Coventry City.

I'm sure the four steps rule was in place at the time, so by allowing that, the referee ruled that a goalkeeper could run around with the ball in one hand as he wasn't in control of the ball

Wind the clock forward a number of years and (I think it was vs Aston Villa) Rodri came back from an offside position to tackle a centre half. We scored a goal from it and there was absolute outrage, yet the Cosby Dibble incident was just a bit of a laugh

Was there in the terrace behind the goal it happened ( as was Billy Boswell, Bread)
Remember the outrage and Kendall absolutely fuming.
Also removed somebody throwing an open umbrella

I’ll request my train fare back as a bare minimum, remember the police escorting us back to the train station with a “typical “ City mood descending on us .
