Yes, you would still be paid. You have employment rights. Sacking an employee without proven gross misconduct (e.g. stealing, sexual harrassment) or breach of contract (e.g. taking drugs, refusing to play) is very difficult in this country. I can see his point. Scholes is, you might say, the model professional. He has obvious talents. He has always kept his head down and got on with it. He's stayed loyal to his club for as long as they needed him. He's re-trained throughout his career. He's always put his kids first.
