Someone high up at the club told me this - he can't play for anyone until January at the earliest due to the terms of his loan/transfer window stipulations etc.

So he's effectively just training ATM. After that, if he played a single minute for the first team it'd rule out a loan elsewhere apparently, so chances are that won't happen unless the plan is to use him in the first team properly. Which I doubt. He'll go out on loan most likely id suspect, but not NYCFC

Strange.

Have you seen him recently ? If so would you also recon he has grown at all physically/ or maybe height ? (No need to use the pixel method, just a rough estimate).

Ha I knew that'd come back to haunt me. Honestly I've not, other than various pics of him in first team training. Hard to tell tbh.

I don't know how true that loan thing is but the person who told me I'd trust, but he could be wrong I guess. Isn't it three clubs in one season? Or sumat like that?

I honestly don't know how the MLS season counts or to what season it does apply, but the regulation normally is that you can't play for more than two clubs per season.

I think you can be signed, however, but cannot feature in an official match.

Reading the following I think he can register for 3 clubs (pretty sure that's 100% right) and play for all 3 because of the season overlaps.

5.3. Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected.

Knowing us he'll get a 30second run out late December and then never be seen for the first team again

I'd love to see a loan to the Championship. Then maybe next season a full season loan to a newly promoted PL side or someone in Spain. The lad has now got his taste of "grown man football" so there isn't a point in putting him back in the EDS

Nah loans to the championship are generally awful. Anywhere but the championship...
