I know first team football is the pinnacle and should always take priority but.......the timing of his inclusion is diabolical considering he is due to play an integral part in a game that showcases, and even helps justify, our fantastic academy - winning that game will be an amazing coup, and will be hugely important to our clubs standing and future appeal, however,i guess so will staying in the top four......

Surely it must be Premier League > FA Youth Cup for him personally, I personally really he'll get the chance today.

Well thats a shame, not that he'd get off the bench in a million years I suppose.

Just wanted to say not seen much of the youth as I don't live local anymore but this lad going forward is going to be special I think. Obviously needs work on his defensive side but that will come. Reminds me of a certain Bixente Lizarazu and he wasn't too shabby.

Don't think he was that bad defensively. There was moments where he was left isolated whilst two of their players came down his side.

Definitely a talent we have.

I'd like to see him at Celtic for a year, it provided perfect conditions for Denayer, plus that Izaguirre is crap.

Yeah agreed. Seem's to have a good head on his shoulders too which will always help.

Not good enough sadly. Pleasant on the eye. Fools Gold here. He won't make it with us. Too small also. Denayer Adarabayo most realistic to get a game in our defence
I disagree, seen a lot of this lad this season and i think he's got a great chance of making it with us. The raw talent is there and he does need to improve but they all do.

For me he is the closest in regards to stepping up.

He has definitely outgrown youth football and needs to be tested against men now.

I agree he needs testing out on loan, poss back to Spain, but closest to stepping up I'd say is Maffeo, our home grown zabbaleta.

Yes because roberto Carlos was held back massively by his size in the same position. Talent will come before height, especially with someone quick like Angelino.

Lahm, Marcelo, Sagna... three examples of accomplished full-backs who are very small. Size does not limit a full-back if you figure out how to deal with the tall and physical players (something Angelino will need to learn... one shot past him too easily yesterday). Lahm is one of the greatest full-backs in history and a tiny 5' 7" (1.70 m).

Whilst I admire Angelino's skill and endeavour have you just seriously made a comparison to Roberto Carlos ? Of course "small" left backs can make it. Ashley Cole is no giant nor is Leighton Baines but I am suggesting first and foremost he won't be good enough for us and then I will suggest he is too small. Defending 1v1 and the back post is an essential in every game and he would not be able to cope despite the fact he is small skillfull and hungry. He won't be able to cope physically with the premier league. Bigger Better players have failed sadly. This is not criticism just an honest opinion of where I don't see this player potentially. I would love to be proven wrong. I said the same about Rekik and my optomism, punt, hope or whatever you wish lies with Barker mainly but also Denayer. I see brilliance at times with the rest including Angelino but think he will end up coming up short which is no disgrace at our club. He seems to be a form horse and the latest name we hear from underneath ( and we have heard many) at the moment but I think a more physically able player will get a go in the premier league first. I know that urrks the romantics but sadly you don't see a player of Angellinos build in Chelsea's team and I don't think you will see him in ours. Denayer Adabayaro could go in, and stay in. As for Roberto Carlos ? He won't even be Sam Williamson.

Sagna ? Our second right back. Have you seen him. He is physically immense. An absolute monster in a medium sized frame. And Lahm plays right across the back line and midfield and is also a medium and is possibly the best two footed defender in the world so a poor comparison. He's more like Kevin Sharp or Danny Tiatto. John Beresford even. Don't get your hopes up and under estimate the physical requirements of the Premier League whilst wishing the next City debut that is all. I'm going for equally talented but physically stronger that's all. Re Denis Suarez or Jason Denayer. You decide.

Err, why might Sagna be physically immense? Because he's a MAN! Writing an 18-year-old boy off physically is silly when he will continue to develop physically and only when he's matured into a man can you really comment on whether he can handle the physical side. When Angelino is 21, then maybe we'll be able to make a judgment on whether he can handle the physical side of the Premier League. And Lahm is not a poor comparison given that he spent the bulk of his career as a full-back and is one of the smallest footballers you'll ever see. There are many small full-backs and the 19-year-old us, Real and Chelsea are linked with (Gaya) is also a mere 5'7".

Suarez or Denayer? Apples or oranges? Again, Denis Suarez was a boy at City and is still developing even now. He is not short by any means (5'11"), but players develop ways to deal with the big lumps as they get a little older. Look at how Silva and Nasri shield the ball and deal with big hatchet men. Writing any youth player off based on their size/physique is complete foolishness. You'd have sanctioned us releasing David Silva (much shorter than Suarez) as a kid if you were in charge because you don't seem to realise these kids/young men grow up and become stronger.

Him and Maffeo can make it to the first team, if not as a 1st choice they can be decent back ups.

I must have over emphasised the "too small" factor but reading back it came secondary to the fact that quite simply I don't think he is or will be good enough and we have better prospects in the system. Put it this way I'd love our team to play against him in the Premier League. Here's hoping I'm wrong.
