Angelino

Angelino played several games for NYC as a left mid & was rated by the commentators as their most potent attacking threat, although imo he was looking rather tired by that point in the season & didn't track back with his customary vigour.

He is a good footballer & we should try him in different roles imo, if he one day gets a chance. It may be he struggles at fullback but makes an impact elsewhere.

1 Game. He started 1 game for them at LM.

It's too bad we didn't get drawn against a lower side for the FA Cup or else I think Pellegrini would actually give him the chance to start

i hope he plays against villa....like neville said earlier he players LM and LB for us at city and most games when he played he was a constant attacking threat and looked lively all game.

If he turns out to be a decent LB that would be JUST FINE. You know not like that would save us a lot if time and effort.

If he does start, I'd rather it's not at fullback. Let him get used to the pace in an easier role first.

I don't think he should be starting kids who have never even had a few subs' games for our first team. Of course it could be that they play a blinder from the off, but equally they could shit their pants & have a meltdown. Imo, any of the kids he uses today should come from the bench, & that should have started a year ago, so by now we would know which kids can deal with it. If that had been happening, perhaps starting one or two wouldn't be a problem now, & they could be helping us compete in so many competitions.

As it is, only Kelechi is a 'known known' in that regard.

I know Villa didn't have the greatest of games, but he didn't look in any sense too small or a defensive liability today, as so many have judged him, and made 1 great through ball for Iheanacho.

Well done to the two lads that had their debut today, Cammy Humphries and Angelino. Great to hear that we finished with them, Celina, Ian and Raheem on the field. That's five youngsters, 4 from the academy. Happy days.

Not to criticise them, but You could see the difference between him and Celina/Humphries straight away.

He was immediately up to speed with the game, looked completely at ease and like a senior player.

That's the difference a season of football in a proper league makes.

4?

How can that possibly be? City don't have any youths, we just buy mercenary players... ;-)

And that's exactly why giving them the odd few mins is a good idea. It's great experience and highly useful. They'll both learn from it vastly.

He's the next player I want to see be given a real chance, Kelechi has proved it and now I want Angelino to get a chance. I'd be gutted if we let him leave for Spain like we did with Suarez.

I rate Maffeo higher than Angelino, but I believe in both of them.

They have what it takes to be above average RB & LB, they just need the opportunity to develop and improve.

The last 10 minutes once every 2 months is not good enough, they need to play more.

I completely agree, we could get rid of 3 fullbacks in the summer and have 2 homegrown understudies.

I love that idea but if we had injuries you could end up with Maffeo, Denayer and Angelino all playing in a Champions League tie against Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich away which is just too much at once. It's just about getting the balance right and allowing young players to develop, at their own pace.

So? Denayer is an international fullback. He's played in the champions league.

And if the other two came into the squad, an away game against one of those teams isn't going to be their first game is it?

You're acting like we'd throw them into that game _now_, when actually they'd have loads of playing time for the first team at that point.

And that would be a worst case scenario anyway.

If he does go to Spain though it will be because City have decided he isn't quite good enough which was the case with Suarez
