Angelino

Of course but the issue is we cap ourselves by consistently including options to buy on loan deals. What benefit, in hindsight, was it putting an option to buy on Harrison's deal to Leeds? Serves us no benefit and caps our potential income. Same for Porro. Why did we insist on a buyback at 35m on Angelino instead of a sizable sell on clause when, in reality, there's little to no chance he would return again? There's little economic justification for the decisions made recently.
3 deals is hardly consistent. Do we know any details (even rumours) about the Porro deal? I know they claim that they have an option to buy but other than that?

His market value, according to transfermrket is 31.5m, we basically sold him for half his value. Really poor sale from us. I'm not sure why we struggle so much to sell our players for their true values.
Just to put this nonsense to bed, according to Transfermarkt:-

Angelino - £31.5mill
John Stones - £22.5mill
Eric Garcia - £18mill

Enough said?

How much in % terms have we made on selling Angelino I am guessing a lot more than through a selling clause but I agree I carnt see us buying him for 30 35 million better now getting a sell on fee I don’t think he is what Pep wants not a great defender and not an inverted full back / midfielder come full back that being said he would be a perfect replacement for Mendy not Zinchenko / inverted full back / midfielder or Ake type left / CB but know one will buy Mendy anyway

To be fair, it was last updated when Ferna was playing ahead of Stones in defence. I'd imagine Stones will have a giant jump when it's updated.

If you think we did well selling him for that price your the one thinking nonsense.

Denayer didn't have attitude problems, he was great at all of his loans and wanted to stay, Pep would only keep him 4th choice and he was better than that.

Tosin will develop in the premier league, and we will get nearly nothing for it when he inevitably becomes better. Wow what a good deal for us...

Holy crap atleast if my takes were nonsense you should say something good to show that, not the crap you spouted.
I didnt say we did well, you are the one who thinks we could get 30m for him.

Didn't have attitude issues yet booted someone in the head in the middle of the street. Proper up standing young lad....

He may do or may not, Fulham likely to get relegated, is someone going to come in for him or will he be knocking around in the championship? We will wait and see on that one.

Right, and me saying 30m is to say we didn't do well, so we agree. Any other club gets more for him, other posters have listed so many other examples on how poor we are here, and how much better other clubs have been, this is a fact.

Denayer had one "outside of football" incident and now he has "attitude issues",what a lazy take. He's been class for every club he's been at and hasn't had any issues at all similar to that one incident. Best defender in Ligue 1 (by Ligue 1 fans btw, not me).

If you think we did well with Tosin you are clearly just taking the piss. If your argument is who else wanted him, then my answer is:

"That's not my fucking job, that's the clubs job, and other clubs do much better at selling, my MAIN point".

Agree to disagree mate. Have a good evening, cracking result tonight. Have a good weekend!

It's literally his value though. Can you give examples of top teams selling assets for half their market values? Truth is, we're so bad in sales it borders on negligence. Harrison with an option to buy at 10m, Pedro Porro with an option to buy at 9m (less than we purchased him for and now voted Liga NOS defender of the month for 3 months straight) are two other examples. We need to stop deluding ourselves that we're genuinely trying to maximise sales; you don't insert options to buy on assets which can improve if that's the case.
But how the hell you can sell someone for an amount no one will offer anytime soon?!?

At the end of the day, a player is worth what buying club the player wants to go offers. You can look at transfermarkt and CIES and every single database, it doens't matter one bit.
