Angelino

Bitter. He was nowhere near good enough.

I don't buy his claims at all. He got plenty of chances. He was just poor.

Most of the time he looked completely lost defensively - his positioning, marking, decision making looked awful.

Mendy is a better defender. For all the stick he gets, he's been pretty solid defensively since his injuries, bar the occasional clanger (not unlike Walker). It's going forwards where he needs to improve massively IMO.

His complaints are valid. My complaints are mostly that we didn't get as much money out of the deal as we should have.
“Judged me after two games” -> Not sure how's that valid? Pep played him some more games after those 2 friendlies. Didn't Pep evaluate Angelino's performance in those games?

And then, ask yourselves whether Pep let players play against each other in training? What was Pep doing while he coached Angelino in those training sessions? Did Pep just ignore his training performance while Angelino himself admitted that Pep taught him a lot?

Now, compare the whole situation with Zinchenko who didn't play for us for many games straight at the beginning of this season (and other previous seasons).

Mendy is gash

He might have some valid gripes at his overall treatment by City. A decent player in the right set-up who is worth more than we got for him.
However, nowhere does he seem to take personal responsibility and admit his performances for us when he got the chance weren’t all that great either.

I think the written word is set to an agenda, read it and without the headlines which would have nothing to do with him thought it was a fair piece.
Nobody should be content to sit on their arse and take a pay packet when you can play for another club every week.
Perhaps Pep thought he wasn't a good fit, he admitted he learnt from him and did something about it so no issues with that.
A short career so making the most of it from where stand is backing himself, good luck to the lad.

He was not good enough. Passing and positioning was awful. I am happy for the lad. We(the fans) were desperate for anyone to play LB due to the problems with Mendy. He maybe didn’t get a good crack at it but pep had seen enough on the occasions he did play.
