Angelino

I would not get too carried away with this story, the club that got turned away was PSG apparently they have Kurzawa and Burnat already but if this story was accurate i would expect Angelino to break it to us first, or have i missed something?
You would expect the player to personally tell city fans he is coming first, before the club tells us? Does that ever happen?

I think the PSG link is that they are interested in him but we want him back regardless of their interest.

Really excited at the prospect of this. Can't say I watch PSV regularly, but there have been some posters on here who know far better than I that have been talking him up all year.

Would also be great to have him back from an optics perspective. Angelino (loan, sold, buy-back) and Foden (academy graduate right into the team) playing meaningful minutes next year would really validate the academy and prove to other youth players that there are valid paths to the first team.

They way i read it was PSG put in a bid and was told of City`s option and city reacted, quite frankly that sounds unlikely to me, And City never talk of a transfer till it is done so i would expect Angelino to drop the penny over a move, not necessarily to us but out in the open from him.

I am pretty sure City spend the whole year (if not many months in advance) regarding their transfer strategy and had weighed up Angelino a while back, I don't see the club as being reactionary like this as you agree with.

I am not familiar with what you are saying in your last sentence by "expect Angelino to drop the penny over a move, not necessarily to use but out in the open from him" (Sorry not british, I am slowly grasping some phrases lol)

My point is City would have had to inform Angelino, he spent many years here and it would be a big step up in every way for him, so i would expect the first news to come from sources close to him and later to be confirmed by him

The only reason they might is if they knew a £25m bid was in and realised they could make a quick profit by selling him on. But hopefully we're considering bringing him back for the squad.

I'm sure we've recently exercised a buy back clause, just to sell the player on for a bigger fee. Can't quite recall who the player was, but, doing this again with Angelino is feasible.

Personally I hope he stays as it would send out a strong message to other academy graduates, just like Foden & Zinchenko have.

Zinchenko was reportedly valued at 16 million last season, and I suspect he’d now command double that figure. A year playing regularly in this team and Angelino could well be worth as much as we paid for Mendy.

Could be wrong but I just see it as easy money. We know PSG are will to pay €25m and we know we can buy him for €12m. We are basically trading players like shares. Buy low, sell high.

I’d love to see us actually use him and let him have a shot here though.

With the Cancelo links too it feels like we are planning to play 3 at the back with wing backs quite a lot. I feel like Sané could be sold and not directly replaced. The formation will change instead.

But we are not paying !2mill we are effectively paying 6mil because we sold him for 6mil last season. So we give them their money back plus 6mil its a total no brainer. We need cover with the on going problems with Mendy and Danilo wanting to leave it makes perfect sense. What's the worse that could happen it doesn't work out and he goes out on loan again in January and we sell him again for a tidy profit. Then again he could end up being our new left back and from the benefit of youtube he does now look the part.
