There’s a good player in there. Wasn’t quite ready but I think he’ll have a good career. LeipsbuRg would be a good move for him. I expect him to progress just isn’t switched on enough defensively. Be curious to see what he’s offering in a few years

A decent player but was competing for game time so it made sense he moved on. I cant help feel we still need a first choice "proper" left back for next season. Someone as good as Robertson would be ideal.

Even if Angelino was only used as a filler to give Mendy, Zinc and Laporte a rest in the easier games.


I dont think they`ll make enough money out of the loan to compensate form Angelino filling in once.

Everybody seems to assume he won't be back although unlikely is still possible. TBH only Laporte fills me with much confidence from that list. Next season its a must to sort out this position particularly if Mendy continues to miss a bundle of games.

Id rather have him at left back than Cancelo though mate. We were massively unbalanced on that left hand side on Wednesday. Admittedly he’d be 3rd choice but I personally think he’d be a good player for us within a few years. Put some great crosses in

Didn’t We buy him back for the set fee we agreed with them? Think it was around 6m so now he has gone on loan where we set the fee at 20m buy option? Or we could use him as a part exchange with around that figure taking of the initial fee of a player! City a run fantastic there is always usually a method in there madness! For me it was a no brainer to buy him back for cover and to be assessed by Pep plus if not good enough get way more than the 6m we paid for him!

He was going to leave PSV anyway I seem to remember, so it was then or never. So not really uprooted. It's obviously easier to asses him in the PL than th Dutch league. He doesn't take a squad place while he's with us.If he stays at Leipzig think everyone wins including Angelino.
Also maybe we have more confidence in Mendy than we did last summer.

He a had a couple of decent games, but just isn’t good enough for our team imo. He lacks the defensive strength and size to make it here. He backed off and got beaten easily far too many times. I don’t think he’s impresssed enough and we probably won’t see him again in Blue.
Good luck on his loan, I hope it can be good for him and good business for us if they want him permanently.

Of course but we assess players before we buy them, surely?
I just feel for the player being shunted about but like you say, its win win for City

The problem now is that we have no cover in the event that Mendy or Zinchenko get injured again. I was hoping Angelino would help out with some of the less important league games to give the other two a valuable rest.

Cancelo can play there but you can’t run club thinking what if Mendy and zinc gets injured we need to keep 3rd for option it’s plain daft.
