Angelino

He’s got attributes we could use and he’s a good rotation option. I’d have him back, he had a dreadful preseason last year and never recovered, he was just finding a bit of form and he went out on loan.

Mendy’s got sawdust for brains and Zinchenko ain’t a LB so it’s not the worst idea.

I did but did you read mine?

Apart from the bit you edited in afterwards, but that's still pretty meaningless. Clubs like Leipzig couldn't sell players for big profit, if the players didn't subsequently perform at the clubs the went to.

But again he is coming back from a spell where he was getting game time. No real guarantees at City, and at his age he needs that the most.

They do. Haaland was bought in very cheap and moved on for a good fee and will be getting another slice when he is sold again. Upmecano is going to be another one.

And Haaland is performing under pressure at a big side.

Just like pretty much all the players who pass through these stepping stone sides.

But he did cut him loose in January. He is better suited at RB Leipzig/PSV than he is here (less pressure at those club, they tend to develop their players more and move them on for huge profit)

He allowed him to go on loan, which is not quite loose.

When Angelino went, it was generally felt that Mendy was making a full recovery in December and could maybe come through the rest of the season unscathed. In reality, he’s managed little spurts of 3-5 games, but then he’s required 2-4 games off. If that pattern continues into next season, Guardiola has to find someone he can rely on more.

Just as mealingless as yours to be honest.

But he wanted regular game time. A fully fit Mendy is the better bet but there is no chance of that ever happening to be honest either. I don't have a particular bias towards the EDS so I don't quite get that buzz with Angelino but I'm against messing him about after he had a good loan spell out. Get a very good fee and find a more suitable LB (if there is any on the market)

angelino or mendy its a easy question for me angelino

mendy is not the same player after the injury it has set him back and loss of power and speed on the turn
he just can not push off and go like he did, even his whole body shape does not look right ? it looks like he is leaning over and using the other leg as his leading leg for that first step in the run ??

plus mendy does not really have the that defences mind set turns off and can loses his man to easy
pep liked the speed and power of mendy going forward, but sadly that's gone and he offers no defences weariness when defending, next season pep and city will be a very tight knit defending outfit ? all the defenders will be worked so hard in shape and formation, i can see the wing backs being asked to sit back and and even old fashioned fullbacks if you like

Dortmund have just bottled another League title despite having a very healthy points difference. On top of that Dortmund are built to get the very best out of his talents.

Which he got and which he could also get here. None of our players are guaranteed game time, but he’s shown the determination and application Guardiola respects, so maybe he is willing to reintegrate him. By way of comparison, he ended up playing more minutes this season than Mendy, who only missed 6 games through injury.

I still think we should move him on (same with Adarabioyo). He is at the age where he got to be playing regular football. Whether it comes back to bite us is another matter.

This guy could do well with Borussia Dortmund.

What do you guys think of an Angeliño+cash swap for Raphael Guerreiro?

If he's coming back, we need a top striker. He's a brilliant crosser of the ball and, having him and Kev, it just seems a waste not to have a pure finisher in the box.

His delivery from the left is very good, we even saw him do this for us, just wasn't really given enough time to settle in.

If he does come back with the intention of staying, then I have to wonder if combined with the Ake signing, if Pep is thinking a back 3 more often, if so, I hope he looks at Walker as a RCB and not a wingback.

Even though theoretically Walker should be able to be a brilliant wingback, he's played so defensively and inverted for us these past few years that he has adapted to his new role.

Something like this isn't so bad (343 or 352):

Angelino/Mendy-------------------------------------------Cancelo/Ferran
---------------------Ake--------Laporte-------Walker

I like the pace and power Ake and Walker bring to the wide CB role here

Of course if we go with the usual back 4, Angelino as LB could work, but he would have to adapt to the inverted parts of the game as well

Edit: Perhaps Stones can re-find himself in a back 3 as well. And Koulibaly or whoever the new CB is can rotate with Ake and Laporte.
