I’m not sure he is and that’s the type of player we need to bring in, someone who can challenge Mendy.

Can't see us signing a LB as well as all the other positions we need. Which I don't necessarily agree with but I've watched a lot of Angelino since he went back to RB L and been really impressed.
However, Zinchenko needs to go IMO. Angelino to fight it out with Mendy.
In an ideal world though we would sell Zinchenko and Mendy and have a solid LB and then Angelino as understudy. But it seems a big ask when the season starts in 4 weeks.

imo, definitely not.
He is great going forward, but the man cannot defend for his life. We need strong and physical fullbacks, Angelino is not the answer.
If all the leftback had to do was whip a cross in, we could go for any player with a good left foot. We need a realiable defender, but also someone who can cross a ball and get forward.
Despite two hard knee-injuries for Mendy, I still trust the man better than any of Zinch or Angelino. Zero doubt, but this upcoming season is make or break for Mendy. If he’s not showing the man from Monaco, Pep wil definitely get rid of him.
