Angelino

is Angelino good enough to be our first choice LB?

I’m not sure he is and that’s the type of player we need to bring in, someone who can challenge Mendy.

What attainable LB is in the market that would be? That’s the dilemma the club have at the moment.

Personally don’t feel there are any players available at a reasonable price that would be significantly better than what Angelino would offer us and he’s free, home grown, club trained and has already spent time in Pep’s system.

If Angelino wasn’t a City player, rather a fully fledged Leipzig player, this forum would be filled with people saying the club should sign him based off of his recent performances.

Exactly we had/played the wrong players for it to work
-------------------------------Ederson---------------------------
------------Koulibaly-----Laporte-----Ake----------------
Cancelo‐----‐-----------------------------------------Angelino
----------------KDB---------Rodri--------Aouar--------------
--------------------Sterling----------Aguero-------------------
Why Aouar when we have Bernardo and Foden who are better players?

He looks the goods at Leipzig, just like he did in the Netherlands.

Gotta question why Guardiola couldn't get the best out of him and didn't give him a long enough run to really prove himself.

Is Angelino that bad at defending ? Yes he is better going forward but he has not had a problem in Germany defending nor did he get many chances here. How many mistakes has he made ? people point to I think United and Liverpool games but they are the better opposition and not sure of the specific mistakes he made. Our problems this year have been lack of people in defensive areas rather than specific individual errors tho they have happened Mendy has made a few individual errors walker to they are in fact more obvious than Angelinos errors. Others have said he is not big and strong but could he not bulk up ? and does it really matter we have always gone for technical ability of over strength

I’ve said in the past he’s not good enough but he has to be a better option than zinchenko. zinchenko is more versatile but he’s never playing in any position other than left back for us so that’s kind of pointless. Angelino is probably better defensively, certainly no worse, has more pace and is infinitely better going forward. Would work well in a 3 if Pep goes down that route although I pray he doesn’t and all with the incredibly valuable bonus of being club trained which essentially makes him a free player. We would be mad to sell him. Sell zinchenko, bring back angelino, we’re at the absolute minimum no worse off and we get a free squad place to allocate elsewhere.

Yes.
He is bad at defending & far too slow & we need another one like a hole in the head.
(That's another thing he can't do: head the ball).

Fine going forward.

I'd much rather keep Angelino than Zinchenko, simply because Angelino is a better footballer.

But I think if you played Raheem Sterling there, or Bernardo Silva, you would have an equally shit fullback, miles better going forward.

Let's just end this kind of crap & have players fit for purpose.

He's never gotten a good chance and I think he'd deliver if he got time, but with 1 or 2 years of Pep left, if we can sell him and get Reguilon for a few million more, then just do that.

I'm bored of discussing left backs.
