I can only assume that there is a non footballing related issue with him because he is absolutely a very capable LB

I agree with a lot of the points you make.As I said previously I dont no were you get that opinion from,
Watched the lad from youth level, plus loans, now your saying he got no ball control.am surprised anyone went him for him,1 off the best players in the league in Holland,
Only played 12 games(6PL) here which is nothing seeing it takes time to adjust to the system,
It's funny the Delph/ Zink who played full backs get applauded first time they play there even tho there natural position is midfield then all of a sudden there fking shit and should get rid off.
Besides aka, & after Zabba only Walker is a true class fb,
I still think he a better option than what we've got at present..
Agreed, when we activated the clause in his contract, did we ever consider him as a useful member of our squad? or was he always seen as a profit making exercise?Never given a proper chance in my opinion. Never had a run of 5/6 games starting. Better than Mendy for sure. He can run so that’s instantly better.
Could it simply be he didn't fit our system? There had to be something seriously amiss for the club to be so willing to move him on so early. For Pep to have been so cold on him means there had to be some issue.
I can believe it if you were to tell me Angelino pushed for a move but then why would he have done so so swiftly?
Possibly, that'll be the simplest explanation.Could it simply be he didn't fit our system?
I think so.Clearly a good player but he'd need us to be playing a back 3 to be as influential as he is for the Germans. In a 4 he'd be no better than than what we have.Possibly, that'll be the simplest explanation.
In which case the calls for him to return are unmerited.
The problem is Angelino's not a full back, he's a wing back, he's not very good at playing the inverted full back role we employ either, and not a great defender either, he looks good at Leipzig because of the way they play, because he is good, but we can't change the way we play just to accommodate Angelino. The longer this goes on, with the club persevering with Mendy as our sole ‘left back’, when we have a better home grown full back out on loan ... it’s one of the only stains on the club over the past 10 years but it’s getting bigger and bigger.
We have been using a pseudo back 3 slot lately with Laporte, Dias and Walker and either using Cancelo/Mendy wide, or Zinchenko tuck in.I think so.Clearly a good player but he'd need us to be playing a back 3 to be as influential as he is for the Germans. In a 4 he'd be no better than than what we have.
It isn't an orthodox 3 though so we still need a player that can defend when required. That isn't his strength,in fact, along with his size.....its his weakness. We have been using a pseudo back 3 slot lately with Laporte, Dias and Walker and either using Cancelo/Mendy wide, or Zinchenko tuck in.
I dont see how he wouldn't slot in.
I just think we have to move on. Angelino is doing well in Germany, wish him well but his time here didn’t work out well and he is doing better elsewhere. We have been using a pseudo back 3 slot lately with Laporte, Dias and Walker and either using Cancelo/Mendy wide, or Zinchenko tuck in.
I dont see how he wouldn't slot in.
Did you mean"our sole" or "arse-hole"The longer this goes on, with the club persevering with Mendy as our sole ‘left back’, when we have a better home grown full back out on loan ... it’s one of the only stains on the club over the past 10 years but it’s getting bigger and bigger.
