Is St Marks still standing?

No; St Marks was demolished some time ago a lot of the houses around there were condemned and the new (I say new, they must be 35-40 yrs old now) you see in the area opposite Gorton Monastery and heading towards the ground where they filmed shameless (Wenlock Way and such) took their place. There's a church called All Souls (iirc) in the middle of the estate opposite the Monastery, which took over from St Marks.

*nb - sorry if this is obvious to most, but the Monastery is nothing to do with St Marks, just using it as a landmark/reference point.

I was christened at St Marks.

Like the pope says rename carrington......

Great articles and I agree it would be great if her name went on sometjing to do with the club i.e. the trining ground would be good rather than just "Carrington" - thats the same as utds.

AND:

"black shirts with a white cross".

Fantastic away shirt idea !! We'd look like a proper set of warriors in that!

This is a thrilling thread and I've really enjoyed reading it......ssssoooooo intersting. My family comes from Rugby so I'm eagerly awaiting an update on the daughter to see if there is any connection.

It also the ONLY thread I have read on BM with NO swearing. Not one word and It's refreshing.

Keep up the good work work and keep posting updates.

We are leaving Carrington..As for the Connell family there´s the Connell Clubroom inside the stadium and the Connell College outside it.
