Anna Connell

I've looked a couple of times in Darlaston library's local history section for any info on Anna Connell or her bros in law, but haven't yet turned anything up. The Walsall newspaper from the time doesn't mention her death at all so no clues there about her burial.
Will go to Wolverhampton Local History Centre when i get a chance as may be able to turn up something there as Darlaston is close to Wolverhampton and her death may have been recorded in a Wolverhampton paper.

I have a copy of her death certificate. She died at The Rectory, Victoria Rd, Darlaston on 21st October 1924, aged 68. She died of Valvular Disease of Heart. Her brother in law was at her death (John W Dixon) and the death was registered on 22nd October 1924, in the registration district of Walsall.

I've also got Georgina Connell, John Dixon, Arthur Connell, Anna Connell (snr), Thomas Goodbehere's death certificates, and the marriage certificate of John Dixon and Georgina Connell (and Goodbehere's marriage).

The latest name and address I have for any member of the Connell family is May Wardrop (Georgina's daughter) who was living at 2 Moultrie Road, Rugby on 13/01/1938. She attened her father's death (John Dixon) at 3 Whitehall Rd, Rugby that day.

I'm wondering if John Dixon, Georgina's husband's family had a family grave & the 2 sisters are buried in that,we don't seem to have any info of where HE was buried, surely it would be with his wife ??.

My GGDad is buried with his wife AND her two spinster sisters (poor sod) so it's a definite possibility. I have seen this quite a lot over the years ie extended family members being buried together.

Good work Gary. :) With a name like Wardrop, the chances of finding a few more Wardrops must be pretty good I'd have thought. Just be great to find someone related to our early forefathers. I wonder if they'd still be Blues?

Keep up the good work Gary, and everyone else for that matter!

Well worth a bump methinks.

I would suggest that she is buried with her Brother in Law's family in that case (and her sister). Or possibly her remains were placed in her parents grave.

It has to be one or the other.

Good luck finding her though.

As a local history and heritage specialist, my hat's most definitely off to Peter Lupson's 'Thank God For Football'. The quality of research is fantastic, brilliant book.
