It's notable that Labour are silent on all of this and I sense a very clever strategy here. Johnson is only ever effective when he is talking about brexit and 'getting it done' and 'sovereignty' and 'sticking it to the EU'. Its notable that Labour are completely silent on it which gives him zero oxygen on the subject. Its the reason he won the election and its just slowly going to shit behind the scenes.

We've had the benefit of membership - until he spied a personal opportunity Johnson praised the single market (and still wants access) - so if there is benefit in being in the single market it's obvious that leaving it is damaging.

Yep. We want all the benefits of single market membership without any of the obligations, and we want to cherry pick the regulations that govern the single market in order to give us an unfair advantage.

Why would all the other members have a problem with that? Really can’t understand why they’re being so difficult.

Anyway the German car makers will make them all see sense.

Very much agree, but also why should we accept all the obligations of being in with none of the benefits of being out which is where the EU are pushing in some key areas? Hopefully a bit of movement from either side.
