So - now that the report has been published and it is clear that there is no evidence of Russian interference in the Referendum - are you able to state clearly that you were wrong?

There is always no evidence if you don't look for it ... lets see if they now decide to launch an investigation (they wont)....

Twitter? If they used Twitter they were spectacularly shit at it, as @blueinsa says all you
ever see on that cesspit are Brexit topics massively tilted to remain.
So how do they do it, put subliminal groaning up on Russkie porn sites, just how?
The only way is to bribe/threaten/coerce ballot staff, and there's no evidence for that
either.
Basically, it's all been a last chance dance at scrapping a democratic vote, and
a wilful refusal to accept the will of the majority, simple as.

Something that took Obama to power and that every political party and campaign the world over has used ever since.

Take a look at the budgets parties put aside to target your vote and the data they mine to ensure they target exactly who they need.

Why are people focussing on the referendum? This isn’t about changing the outcome of that outside of for some people still way too invested in that particular subject, this is about foreign interference in our democracy.

I have no idea how successful that interference was. I don’t overly care, the issue is the interference in the first place.

We're focussing on the referendum because this is the Brexit thread, which involved
a referendum, a referendum that many on here said was influenced by the Russians.

The issue is the one eyed approach im afraid.

Not a single fuck given about the then POTUS or the EU or the Hungarian Billionaire interfering from those making all the noise here.

parliament have had the final say they had a vote and passed a law that says the government can do it.

parliament had the final say and could have rejected the governments motion but parliament passed the bill that says the government can negotiate and agree trade deals. So they will.

Strange to see who are the posters that are objecting to the decision by parliament - maybe my mind is playing tricks - but they seem to be ones that were exulting not that long ago about the decision of the Supreme Court in the Miller case and the various vote in parliament that stymied Brexit.

It is almost as if they only support parliamentary decisions and actions when it goes in their favour.

Surely they would not be that disingenuous?

Its a good thing.

pivotal moment for the EU, it will be the making or breaking of it.

if they get this right it will bring the countries together and people will believe in the eu project as a force of good .

if they get it wrong it could be curtains. Unfortunately Wrong could be countries feeling they have borne to much of the financial cost , or countries thinking they have not been helped enough.

A damning report showing government inaction in countering a well known threat to democracy from Russia and also showing government inaction in even investigating it after the event has been released, and the Brexiteers are using it as full vindication that the election wasn't externally influenced, and they think it's funny.
