Another new Brexit thread

The irony of who “liked” this post

I honestly couldn't tell you who consistently needs to play the blame game as I read a couple of pages on this thread every now and then when nothing else much is being discussed.

On this occasion I found the general chat on the 2 pages I read about owning it both hilarious and needy. What followed I wouldn't know.

The brexit thread - leave it for 100's of pages read the last few and you're all caught up.

All this crowing over the collapse of the EU is both premature and instructive.

Spain and Italy have received significant help from the ECB. As they have suffered more from Covid 19 than other EU states. That's how it should be.

Will Westminster similarly plough money into area's most affected by Covid and by the upcoming Brexit?

The ‘EU collapsing’ is like the football ‘bubble bursting’ people will say it for years and if eventually it happens they will say they were right all along despite being wrong for 30/40 years

Some to people who wanted Brexit and some to people who didn't. I don't think that's a secret (nor that it wasn't the only reason Labour lost votes). It does seem to be people who didn't want a second referendum most keen to claim that more complicated elections are a better guide to any change of opinion from the referendum. That seems manifestly false. I'll agree that the referendum was supposed to be a definitive (if non-binding) decision but none of you can prove the electors wouldn't have delivered a different result if asked the same question again from 24 June 2016 onwards. I'm afraid "no-one I know has changed their mind" isn't exactly proof.

I dont have to prove nothing Vic and that isnt being argumentative, its just a fact.

I had a voice, one vote and like you i used it.

Has remain won i would have wanted us to remain.

Leave won and i wanted us to leave. Lucky for me it was the way i voted.

In the future im also happy for the electorate to have another say if they make that clear and the government and parliament thinks its wise to do so.

You have no idea on Northern Irish politics so do one, you also spout shit on here to whoever does not suit you or your cabal's agenda, bore off you sad fucker.

How utterly charming.

And you don’t need to be an expert on Northern Irish politics to know the DUP confidence and supply deal was to help the tories get stuff through the commons.

What do they say about keeping the receipts if you sell your soul.......

Someone from the DUP was barking at the moon the other day wanting clarification that they weren’t being shafted - what did they think would happen?

All entirely predictable

It was actually to get themselves into the commons as a majority - same thing I suppose. I honestly don't think brexit was part of May's calculation when she bribed the DUP - just wanted to turn up at the palace with a big enough majority to form a govt after the disastrous GE.

Certainly. In fairness, I don’t think calculations were Theresa’s strong point.

As someone who wanted a 2nd referendum for a very long time I can safely say that’s a terrible idea without enacting the first.

I don’t need convincing Brexit is a bad idea economically speaking but for the sake of democracy it must be done.

Still beats me how people can support Brexit whilst the Government are sitting on a report (despite a petition demanding it be released) which allegedly confirms Russian interference in the referendum (If it didn't it would've been released by now)..... the similarities to the support of Trump are mind blowing.

Surely the Government should be forced to release it / make the results public (no redactions) .... discuss it in parliament and then a decision should be made.

So there it is .... all you leavers thinking that we're going to get a deal ... can forget it.

Mark Francois has just admitted on 'Parler' that it was never the intention to get a deal .... instead we were just to crash out . He states

' We all voted for NO DEAL. Even though Vote Leave said repeatedly that we'd get a deal. NO DEAL was ALWAYS the intention'

then in response to another 'tweet'

'Precisely! If Vote Leave had told everyone we'd leave with No Deal from the off , Remain would've won by a landslide! We were very canny.

He then goes on to say ..... 'Its not lying ....its Politics and we won!'

We are well and truly f@cked now. They're not even trying to get a deal.

Tbf I’m not sure how much influence he has on the matter. More of a mascot than anything isn’t he?
