Another new Brexit thread

Reciprocal healthcare agreements don’t specifically need to be rescinded. They were part of our former EU membership and remain in place during transition as agreed in the WA. Unless a new deal is in place by the year end they will simply expire and it will be up to individual countries whether to continue with something similar, presumably in conjunction with the UK agreeing to do the same. Without an overall agreement, the existing EHIC, S1, S2 and S3 schemes won’t be available and replacements will need to be put in place. There’s no guarantee that this will happen in each country, and new schemes may not match the ones they supersede.

Personally I think there will be a deal that will allow the existing schemes to continue but there’s no guarantees.
The row back is starting already!

Food standards ....

Jamie Oliver very vocal on food standards, while Keir Starmer visits the farm of the NFU president and positions Labour as backing Britain's farmers.

The government still refuses to legislate to fulfill its manifesto commitment to uphold standards in any trade deal.

I get the impression that the pro-Brexit group on here are ok with allowing lower standard imports (though at least one misunderstands and thinks the issue is about whether we could lower our own standards now we've left the EU).

So here's the question(s):

Do you think we should allow in food produced to lower standards?

If no, do you trust the present bunch of liars to keep their word to protect standards?

If yes to that, why won't they put it in legislation?

It's been corrected in Hansard but you do wonder if it's a Freudian slip...

All about the food standards now then......

Laughably, Eustace was on the radio this morning saying there was no need to legislate as it was in the manifesto.

Horsemeat lasagne (supposed to be beef) direct from the EU.......yum fucking yum.
Brexit will mean we can no longer import thousands of tons of chicken from Brazil and Thailand that have been repackaged in the Netherlands and sold as EU produce. But that's ok - EU inspectors visit the Thai and Brazilian producers once a year to check standards and sometimes even have to stop these imports as a result.

No idea what you’re on about.

Another one of your attempts at adding humour maybe?
