What the f..k is LPF? Tired of trying to figure out all these abbreviations people use nowadays just because they can't be arsed to write it out properly.

Level Playing Field.

The concept that the EU is a highly regulated market with lots of controls on goverment/state subsidy and that it would not be fair for UK firms to be able to access the free market but avoid the regulations and limits on subsidy.

Press seem to be waking up to the residence and insurance requirements from 01 Jan

180 days in any twelve month period.

motor insurance green cards limited to 90 days. Requirements for international driving licences, and health insurance which covers pre existing medical conditions .... bit tough (and expensive) on those who live in the UK but with a property abroad.

Evidence required for purchase of electronics (laptops / mobiles etc) before entering the Eu

Outstay your visa time and have your passport stamped to stop re entry for 3 - 5 years

Or employment legislation , or quality standards , or evidence of origin etc etc

Still struggling to see many upsides of Brexit, but for the sake of balance this appears (on paper at least) to be a potential positive if we see more sustainable and environmental practices supported.
Adding cost to UK farming methods even as they try to do a deal with the USA to let in food produced to much lower environmental and animal welfare standards.

If the Tories have a plan to improve the environment, you have to wonder who's going to pay for it (food consumers obviously) and who's going to make money out of it. I have no idea of the answer to the latter but it's the Tories so I guess we'll have to "follow the money" to see where the new grants go.

The laughable thing about the fish are the questions of who is going to catch it and where are they going to sell it? If you own a day boat and go out fishing say up to 5 miles off shore ( the majority of the British fleet ) that boat is in no way fit to fish 150miles out in the Atlantic Ocean. Then there is the market question - 70% is currently sold tariff free into the EU - thats about to end.

Its all about the LPF.
Years ago i used to watch a docu-series called 'trawlermen' (i think). Boats passed down through families and staffed by local lads and old sea dogs from Peterhead.
A few days ago i saw an updated version of the show and, apart from the captains nearly all the workers on the boats were foreign.

Fish is the basis that BoJo will claim success.

The EU will get the LPF basis that it always insisted on and it gets London cut off from EU financial markets, they just had to give BoJo and the headbangers something to cling to. Will it be enough for the headbangers - i think there will be sizable pushback but it will get through.

The 100% inevitable tory shit deal taking shape.
