The rate of immigration under the freedom of movement tenet was/is unsustainable and whilst a member of the EU we could do absolutely nothing about it. We'll be able to reduce immigration. I see that as a good thing.
I want no part of an organisation that helped put Greek citizens to their deaths through the actions of the EU "troika".
I will no longer have to help Neil Kinnock and his family drive their gravy train.
I will be able to directly influence all law-making, through the ballot box. I can't do this whilst we are in the EU. The EU commission draft EU laws. The commission is not elected.
I think history will prove the eurozone to have been an economic disaster. We will be leaving it and we will benefit from that.
On the downside, I'll have to try and remember how much 2 ounces of midget gems looks like.
Theres so much wrong about this post ... that I don't know where to really start. So once again for those at the back.
1) We are not in the Schengen area.. we do not subscribe to freedom of movement. We subscribe to Freedom of movement of Labour.
2) Any Eu citizen arriving in the UK must evidence that they have employment in writing or show themselves to be self sufficient with adequate income to support themselves.
3) If a person becomes unemployed and remains so for three months we have the right to send them home / ask them to return home
4) Cameron went to the Eu and asked for permission to stop Freedom of Movement of labour ... they politely told him to go away and implement the rules that were available (like they do in Spain). He couldn't because the Tories had 'sold off' border security to G4s and were unable to alter the contract (and didn't have the infrastructure to do so anyway)
5) The impact of the Eu and any deaths caused imposing financial conditions on Greece is less than the number of deaths (130000) caused by the hostile environment created by the DWP and this UK Government.
6) You don't want to fund Kinnock on the Gravy train .... but I'll bet you're happy to fund Farage and his crew.
7) You influence law making in the UK now... that's what Parliament does. No one else in Europe is talking about banning hand free car phones this morning .. but we are. No one else is talking about making prison sentences harsher today .. but we are. The Eu is about harmonisation ..
8) the commission is appointed by the people you elect. Thats how it works ... you vote for a government .. they nominate people who sit on the commission. The commission does not have a vote.
9)The commission DO NOT draft Eu laws. Prospective laws are
proposed by MEPs and the commission... they are then debated in the Parliament (people who are elected by me and you).. If approved they go forward for implementation.. they CANNOT pass a directive that is applicable to only one country (ie they cannot pass laws that impact on UK income tax for example)
8) The Eurozone may well be an economic disaster ... however we are not in it. Neither do we bail out countries in the Eurozone... therefore we will not benefit from leaving something we are not in.
