Over 3 years Ric is not us rushing anything but wouldn't it be nice to get to the next phase before we are all dead?

Sorry @Vic if this has given you a hard on.
It’s not three years on this specific deal though, which is the point here. It’s three days. I get why the ardent leavers like you are getting agitated, but I still don’t think it’s a valid reason to rush through such important, complex legislation.

Isn't there a joke about not being able to get the coffin lid down?

Anyone called Oliver should be, without a shadow of a doubt, lined up against the wall and shot

I've been elsewhere today. Did many MPs come up with the nonsense of "ending uncertainty"?
It was all about democracy today. They wanted Parliament to vote through something no-one has looked at properly in the name of all the people who voted for something completely different in 2016 and for something that the PM said in 2018 that no Conservative government could ever consider, just to meet an arbitrary date for no apparent reason.
That’s called democracy in 2019 apparently.

Just thinking about Brexit and the divisions are clear ...............you see it on here in parliament - in the street people abusing MP's .....on twitter on other social media platforms - just wondered - has it got worse and more divisive since 2016 and the result and is it ever repairable? I think it has and I think it isn't - not fr a long time anyway.

1. It’s definitely got worse.

2. Never say never, but I fear it will take a long time for the wounds to heal.

Just seen our esteemed prime minister has actually done the whole not sign the letter and send a second letter being a massive fucking bellend thing. A spoilt child kicking off because he can't get his own way. England in the 21st century.
And the **** has the temerity to talk about bringing the nation together.

This is an interesting point and one that bears thinking about.

So why did Johnson suddenly switch from a very pro EU stance to leadership of the leave campaign ?

The line normally trotted out is that he saw the opportunity to elevate himself into power but I'm not sure that bears scrutiny.

No one really gave leave much of a chance of winning when the referendum was called. It was an issue pursued by a vocal minority.

So who or what convinced Johnson to do a complete 180 degree turn on his views and why does he seem hellbent on as damaging a Brexit as possible.

It smacks of him running another persons agenda for me.

But why ? I hope we find out one day.
Crispin Odey.
