With Johnson’s track record, it’s pretty much nailed on. Johnson’s only success has been to get the gullible to vote for him and he did that by keeping his head down to avoid scrutiny, whilst relying on his media friends to keep the narrative going that the opposition were even worse.
Since being in government all he’s done is sign up to an internal UK border as a quid pro quo for getting GB out of the EU.
He’s utterly failed at everything else.

Detail is Johnson's weakness. We are about to enter 6 months of forensic detail around what brexit actually looks like. It will throw up some fundamental questions around the rationale and he will not have answers.

It has changed though - and yes it will get worse. Which is why they no frame the argument that failure should be blamed on May and her crew as they were all Remainers. You see failure will be disonwed by Leave and placed at Remains feet.

The end result of brexit will be an economic shit storm and only the zelots will be left championing it through more and more obscure reasoning and flawed base less arguments. Johnsons position will be untenable - he will be gone and we will be negotiating brexit V2 this time next year.

The Dutch primarily want something for the money so that they can sell it domestically. Rutte was praising the Italian PM yesterday ‘for his courage’ over reforms after a long phone chat.

The package will get roughed up and reworded in a few places but with the majority of member states behind it, including all the big guns, it’s likely to go through.

Hmmm - I am tempted to copy a few of the posts that I have recently made suggesting this would be the case
Basically EU borrows huge sum and repackages debt into smaller parcels to 'help' EU nations post covid. These parcels have some pretty serious strings attached which essentially dictate future domestic budgets and turn half the continent into Greece circa 2010. Rather than seeking to help beleaguered member states, the EU are seeking to take advantage of the post covid wreckage to leverage the situation into a power grab. Shrewd move to head off disintegration of the project by tying nations to long term debt (membership). Maybe I'm wrong, and they are just seeking to act as credit worthy honest brokers of cheap borrowing?! - Always try to keep an open mind on these things :-)

Am I detecting some of the Brexit boys making cheap political points about the EU’s response to the pandemic?

Surely not. They couldn’t be so hypocritical.

No. The EU have laid it all out in their plan for the next 7 years. Most cynical leveraging of tragedy since the corporate branding of munchen 50

You are not wrong - it will be used to shoehorn / blackmail nations into increasing commitments to integration

Remainers will dress it up as an example of EU benevolence

We need to get the clear of any ties to EU regulations and controls

Pissing tens of billions of pounds away to a corrupt bunch of bureaucrats running an autocratic system is "just common sense"

He even has an EU flag in his twitter moniker.

Something tells me he's not acting out of the interests of the entire British public, but of a certain "sect".

She'd get them out if we stayed in? :-0

No - we hadn't left at that stage - that came 31/1/20 the GE was December. They pledged to stop us leaving and revoke A50 ( not seen that for a while lol ) - so the guy stood on that platform and is acting head of his party so I am surprised anyone is surprised he has an EU flag on his page. I'm more outraged that Katie Hopkins has a Cross of St George on hers TBH.

Sounds a bit like what we'll do (tying ourselves to long term debt) except with higher interests rates because we haven't the AAA rating the EU has.

Didn't they win the last GE as the whole country made its voice heard that they wanted to remain in the EU?
Seems we have to say it every time - more votes for parties wanting to Remain or at least have a second referendum.
