That's a great analogy actually chief, cheers.

That's exactly what we did do in 1939. All the old arguments went out the window and the country came together to fight European fascism. All the experts predicted disaster and complete anhiliation. But an ever increasing number of folk said "this far. Not one step more".

And we came together for the greater good and the nation survived. Victoroius. Unbowed.

So how about it fella? Are you ready to drop past arguments now the decision is made and work with your fellow man for the greater good? You know it's the right thing to do. Theres a good lad.

We did come together. Well apart from the bitching in the early years over lack of equipment and unpreparedness due to the previous Govts refusal to face reality about what was happening in Europe (sounds oddly familiar). And then there was the vote of no confidence in Churchill in 1942 when things were not going well.

But apart from that it was all heart warming stuff with everyone looking out for each other. Well okay the crime rate jumped 60% as people took advantage of the black out - oh but you don’t want to hear about all that.

As for the rest, given I invariably only talk about the current situation I’m cool thanks. Take yesterday. Thrust of my posts was pointing out that the EU hadn’t proposed a transition extension - this earnt me a ‘somewhat technically correct’ upvote. I explained at some length why the EU was not offering a Canada type deal and I had to correct a poster who seemed unaware of the procedures in turning sovereign nation states into federalised ones under a European banner.

Whilst I wasn’t expecting thanks for my well informed contributions I didn’t anticipate the pant wetting hysteria they provoked nor that the hysteria would go on for eight fucking hours.

Despite this I shall continue to comment on the current situation. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope some day you will join us and the UK will be as one.

nah - I don't play your tedious games

You made the claim did you not?

BTW, you're wrong but you knew that which is why, after taking a look no doubt you feel a bit of a dick and dont fancy admitting as much.

Thanks for being one of the biggest contributors to the Gammon search btw.

That's a bit weird.....???

Really strange - you were so strong in your opinion....

Surely it cannot be that you are concerned about the truth????

TBF - It is late and you probably are just too tired to take the 1 minute effort required.

If it helps you - shall I be collegiate and do the search for you and post the results?

Then we all know the facts - that would be good wouldn't it?

If you would prefer I didnt - why would that be??

Great Post....

So, this means that I can count @Rascal and yourself as two posters that understand what being a Socialist actually entails.

Beyond that I can think of nobody.

But shockingly, there are loads of 'habitual protesters' on here that claim to be Socialists - but clearly do not have a clue what that means.

It has been said before - and it is undeniably true - based on the evidence of this sub-forum....

If Corbyn had taken Labour into a 2015 election and won on the back of a promise to lead a Leave campaign - the vast majority of Remain advocates on here would be vehemently supporting Leave.

Given that it is a simple fact - it exposes the 'quality' of their opinions and their utter inconsistency IMO

It doesn’t matter how many times you repeat that, it remains a strongly held opinion of yours, not a fact.

Even for you that's a slippery post. "If Corbyn had taken Labour into a 2015 election" probably explains where you get the fantasy of a cake and eat it Brexit.

OK - I can see that you and everyone knows the truth - that you were completely wrong and just cannot come out and say it

It is not the first time - and I am sure that it will not be the last - that you have posted some totally inaccurate claim

Why this recent need to keep posting to 'big yourself up'?

There have been quite a few posts where you have needed to tell yourself how clever you are - has your confidence been badly knocked recently?

Have you not been getting enough likes?

You certainly seem to have lost a lot of credibility in recent days/weeks

But these demonstrations of seeming insecurity put me in mind of the quote:

"Falsehood often lurks upon the tongue of him, who, by self-praise, seeks to enhance his value in the eyes of others."

Anyway - pottering in the garden would seem to be better use of the day

How’s your irony meter?

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwnnn - you bore me - in fact you bore us all.

Im not so sure they would. The Brexit issue appears to cross party lines imo. Its clear that many on this forum are vehemently opposed to leaving the EU, I beleive that many would have voted LD. But an interesting concept.
