What the Germans are doing is exercising a member states right to control their borders and who lives or stays there. We had the right to do that too but chose not to - then those behind that choice said the EU prevented us doing so ( as can be seen it doesn't) and used that as a pretext ( a lie ) to feed to all those who don't like foreigners to vote Leave.
I don't agree. Voting leave does very little to stop foreigners coming here, it just means EU citizens have similar instead of preferential rights to come here. Our actual immigration policy is as you say up to us and separate.

Sad that the EU are not moving as one on this.
Have you actually got any examples?

And are you actually complaining that different sovereign member states are having to pass national law to effect what the EU "as one" has already agreed? (Right of permanent residence of UK citizens who have lived there five years)

Or are you actually complaining that our leaving the EU means UK citizens have lost the right to live anywhere in the EU?

Wrong as usual. We have individual arrangements with multiple countries and blocs around the world. There is no level playing field worldwide when it comes to entry and working in the UK. It’s just another Brexit fallacy.

Gosh that's weird. I could have sworn voting leaving meant stopping foreigners coming here - was it not meant to reduce immigration?

Tell you what.
Try answering the point about how we get round breaching MFN rules if we have No Deal and no infrastructure in place to implement customs checks and tariffs in line with WTO requirements from day 1.
We've had 4 years to sort this. I suppose poor old Boris is stuck with May's 'no deal is better than a bad deal' thing. Still, I suppose she was clear and sincere about this so no surprise.

In that case then it wont matter - happy days.

I know that - you know that but the gammon were sold the proposition that because we were an EU member we could do nothing to stop anybody from anywhere coming here and for those who don't like foreigners coming here to pick our strawberries so voted Leave to stop that happening.

still waiting for this PM given you don’t want to debate on the forum.
Heh - I decided to have a break for a week from the quality of the substance of the Remainers on this thread (not aimed at you)

But back now and will PM you - just providing some procurement advice to your area of government - should, hopefully, be free on Thursday

Edit : also - TBF: "Don't want to debate on the forum"??

There will be a reason for that - you might debate - several others are just......

Utterly spot on

That was soooo disingenuous - utter rubbish
He couldn't give an example of the EU "playing silly games with the status of Brits in the EU". I have a sneaking feeling you won't either, so - in the absence of evidence - your claim of disingenuity is a lie.
