Theresa May blaming this deal on Starmer for not voting for her better deal in 2019...

I shudder at the fact that at one point, due to brexit fatigue, some of us, including me, were trying to find positives in the WA just to bring an end to the whole saga. Odin be praised for December 2019.
Many on here - not meaning you - never understood the threat of the unfettered backstop that May would have committed the UK to - genuinely a vassal state outcome.

And then of course there was the detail of the PD that she would have implemented.

Fuck - the UK came that close to disaster

Please stop posting crap.

"They latched on to the issue of seed potato sales into Europe, without having done the research that showed that just five per cent of Scottish seed potato exports go to the EU "

My research suggests that, of all the seed potatoes exported from all the UK, a fifth is (was) Scottish potatoes going to the EU.
I just posted an article from an MSP - I suggest that you take it up with him

No one voting against this deal is voting for no deal.

If I'm on a jury and I vote not guilty I'm not saying that no one committed the crime.
So if the Hitler supporting SNP vote against this deal, what deal are they in favour of?

As I see it the nationalists are as gutted as so many on here that the deal we were told for 4.5 years was simply impossible has been negotiated.

My own personal disappointment and only gripe with the deal is that I cannot see anywhere in it for providing us with a third world war which I was very much looking forward to after being promised it by Cameron and Osborne and many others on the remain side of the debate.

And little Nichola can complain as much as she wants. The Scottish people are not stupid. They know full well that independence would mean the cutting off of the English taxpayer funded teat they've been suckling on for so long.

The union will be just fine thank you.

Looks like it's going to be a procession of opposition MPs calling Johnson a liar (or simply not knowing what's in the deal).

You didn't say he was a Tory. If it wasn't an overused word, I'd say your sycophancy now means you post stuff you think supports your view without any check on the rubbish within the posts. Like Johnson with the deal.

You're right on the numbers, provided the sales to England / NI / Wales from Scotland aren't counted as exports from Scotland. Which would be the Scottish Nationalist view.

The reason we can't export export them is apparently fears of divergence on agricultural standards between UK / EU. If Scotland left the UK, it is hard to imaging that there wouldn't be agricultural alignment going forward, or else you are going to need a hard UK / Scotland border. Northern Ireland is still aligned with Ireland for agriculture.(Scotland can't export seed potatoes to NI either now.)

Exports to the EU from Scotland are currently 20,000 tonnes pa, and exports to Egypt are 30-40,000 tonnes pa. The EU isn't always that important as a market. Its politics. Partial information to make a point is king.

And bizarrely we are are still allowing imports of seed potatoes to the UK from the EU for a year. Why? God knows. But if we just buy the Scottish ones instead, it solves the problem, and a load of CO2 emissions too.

Tory MP has just threatened the Scots with no trade deal if they get independence. ...... is that really the basis for a relationship?

Another example of the value of a 'No-Deal option' in negotiations - and general management of affairs

What a difference to the dealings in the HoC of 15months ago
So you don't think Starmer should have a viable walkaway option today?
