Wont have as much money as our guy but even if has 1/3 its not exactly a pittance is it! Dont want anymore clubs having money at the moment. Its hard enought to convince players of our plan as it is.

welcome rag !!!!

Please explain yourself!

Everton chairman, Kenwright, was on Talk Sport not long ago saying he has weekly contact with potential investors/buyers of Everton FC but as yet (this was about a month ago) had not found anyone suitable or if he had their desire to invest/buy was not strong enough!
Maybe now he has got a suitable investor/buyer with the desire to take Everton places!

If so it is at a bad time for us as we are still in our developmental stage and considering Everton are a slightly bigger club than us (maybe not in terms of fanbase cos i would say they are similar, although they take up away allocations much higher than ours in recent years) and if Everton get their new stadium (bigger and newer than ours) EFC would probably be a players preferred destination if it was a choice between them and us!

This is unfortunate for us, slightly worrying! But of course nothing has happened yet and it may also just be mixed up paper talk with the Pompey takeover - who knows!?

Dadnlad. He a rag too you prick?

man utd, chelsea, villa, arsenal, city, sunderland, tottenham (AFAIK), arent for sale. it's not portsmouth.

pool would require an investor with at least 800m to complete the stadium, pay off the debts

Hull, Burnley, Blackburn, Wigan, Stoke, are all possible, but I don't think they are that attractive for an investor. I can't see them gaining many more fans, and I can't see anyone looking to do a redevelopment job.

Fulham? Everton? West Ham?

Fulham don't have many fans, but with a new ground, they could look quite attractive.

West Ham, Birmingham, and Everton would be better bets tho, because of the fanbase.

Personally, I hope it's the toffees, it's a bit sad that one of the better teams in the premiership, and a club with a rich history and loyal fans, is playing in such an awful stadium with little progress being made towards a replacement.

I'd bet on Brum tho, dunno why.

Everton or West Ham for me. However Hull could be a good shout. Their catchment area for fans is huge, new stadium that could easily be expanded, infact it was designed to do so, good young manager hmmmmmmmm!

The more I think about this, the more odd it seems. If you buy 30% or more of the shares in a company then by law you have to make an equivalent offer for the rest. This is so that existing shareholders aren't disadvantaged.

Yet no formal announcement has been made. Hhmmm!

I know we're all desperate to see City rule the world now we're rich but it might not be a bad thing if a few other teams grow semi-rich alongside us.

We need the Prem to continue being seen as the best league in the world ahead of La Liga to keep attracting the elite players. Let's say it's Everton, we'll now have 6 teams, or 7 with Pompey (and maybe the Arabs haven't finished yet) with the financial clout to be competitive at the top. This will be so much better than the than the boringly predictable 4 team clique it has been recently. La Liga may have the biggest stars but they're concentrated in two teams with the rest nowhere. It's like a sunny SPL.

If it was Everton ( I'm not saying it is and doubt it also ) and they suddenly acquired spending money , do you think they have a better existing foundation than City , and would come to fruition much sooner regarding success ?

Hmm. I'd say it would depend on what happened next season, but in terms of your team, then yes. Jo said when he arrived that there was much more of a sense of family there, which must be mainly because Moyes has been consistently backed. Hopefully Hughes will be given time to impose that at City. You'd need to build a new stadium sharpish, though!

Unfortunately for you I reckon it is just Portsmouth. Kenwright's been under pressure to get it done for some time so I'm sure he'd let everyone know quickly. Although wasn't he pictured with a mystery Arabian businessman?

Their wealth doesn't seem to touch our man's though. You should pray for DIC to buy Everton instead of 'pool, now that would be funny.
