think he is being brought in with more intention than some posters seem to believe. have been watching clips of him... would be an interesting fit to the team we are building. not our lone answer to fernandinho but he has some ability. those cross field diagonals he sprays with regularity would suit raheem and sane quite well. also looks alright in a tackle. a well-rounded game and captain of youth national side signals a good mentality. will be keeping an eye on this one.

So, Ante, would you like to keep #15, or would you prefer #6?

Give him back to them for 6 months, but 18??? Get him in here, bedded in with the team during preseason, then part of the rotation! Maybe, though, the problem is foreign player? Realize he is young, but are we not buying him so that by the time he has been here 3 yrs he will be considered homegrown...or some shite like that?

Either way, get him in the set up and sorted. Only way to know if he is a great player for an Eastern European league, or a real baller that can hack it in the Premier League. I think the latter, but the sooner we find out, the better.

One caveat, the early (and inexpensive) deal might be all about the 18 month loan back, and Pep wanting him to mature with a “real” team, not the EDS! The sooner the FA & Football League wakes up to the fact that the only way to nurture talent is to have it play competitively against grown men, the better!

Pep has now wonderful set of talented young players ( A & M Garcia , Douglas & now Ante )

hopefully one of them will be squad player soon.

Think you've answered your own point there, and if it's a loan he can still be home grown.

The 18 months is a bit of a surprise. I know he'll likely be another for the loan army but that price means if he plays to potential he could be great

He's 18 and only played 15 professional games. I doubt he's likely to be ready in 6 months time, and if he comes back in 18 months he'll be just turned 20 and hopefully have 80 odd games under his belt.

It's also possible they arranged a break in the loan if he suddenly becomes the best player in Croatia in the next few months, either after 6 or 12 months.
