Anthony Taylor appointed ref for Chelsea

Altrincham fan Anthony Taylor has refereed 12 games involving the 2 Manchester clubs this calendar year.

We've not won any of the 5 where he was the ref.

They've not lost any of the 7 where he reffed them.

Coincidence?

Overall some useful stats brought into the discussion but, for me, an emerging theme has got to be the issue of transparency ...
Once again the rugby union shows the way (let's not get too tribal about this)
The miked up ref explains his decisions to the players and spectators alike... what I also note is the way that rugby refs warn about possible infringements.....please tell me why this can't apply to football

You'd have to have some sort of NFL 'challenge' system in place, otherwise you'd get the same accusations of bias you do now, only over which decisions the ref chose to review!

More like lack of a pattern. So fractionally over 2/3rds of ours were given when there was only one goal in it either way. Interesting. If I had the time and energy I'd look at united's spread by comparison. Safe to say they've had more outrageously soft ones than us though, cos I can remember 7 or 8 without even looking!

It hardly supports evidence of a ref bias though. With regards Uniteds spread possibly, but consideration we have had more 'big hitting' victories over recent years

I wasn't claiming that it did, merely insinuating that they get a high number of soft ones compared to us. Would like to see United's stats though. Out of interest did you break City's down further into winning, drawing or losing at the time of the award?

Given our respective win percentages it's certainly unusual.

Who were the five matches then? To assess your data accurately.

yep no bias, just coincidence

funny that you only posted once over the whole weekend of Taylor's cheating, but two weeks later you're all over it like a rash?

This is incorrect in a calendar year we've had him 4 times won one against Sunderland draw against Arsenal and lost 2 Leicester and Chelsea
If you go back to start of last season we beat Everton so won 2 in 5
