If he wasn't a bit of a nutcase, he could have been as good as Roberto Baggio by now.
Extremely talented, but he's always going to be somewhat of a liability.
So the perfect replacement for Robinho I'd say...

As good as Baggio? That's a big statement, if he'd fulfilled his potential he'd certainly be better than Del Piero or Totti but would he have equalled the greatest Italian of all time? Hard to say.

True. As long as we can state that he could've been better than DP or Totti.

Seems a bit crazy. His biography is supposedly very frank.

But could he be our C*ntona?

Unlike Robinho, he possesses physical strength as well as technique.

He has travelled around, fallen out with people. It all sounds familiar.

I saw, this evening, at the regional news (genoa brench) of the public owned national broadcaster RAI, a short interview with Giuseppe Marotta, Sampdoria Chief Executive, who said Cassano are not moving anywhere until June.
I mean, in italian fooball everything is always "very fluid" but, usually the Club is quite serious at statements.

Yes, despite following Juventus, Cassano is more naturally talented than Del Piero. Though I can't see Cassano achieving the same heights as either Del Piero or Totti now as he's failed to fulfil for too long now.

Because of the Adrian Mutu drug test failure, Fiorentina are expected to offer Sampdoria cash to purchase Cassano in the next 24 hrs. Football Italia.net.

The only way we should let this fly is if Cassano doesn't want to leave Italy, if Sampdoria are willing to sell there's no competition for funds between us and Fiorentina.
