Would you want to see Rudiger in a City shirt?

He makes 100k currently and wants around 230k according to this, not 400k

As a journalist yourself do really trust that newspaper as a reliable source?

Or do you also write for a tabloid? :)

I voted No in a vacuum. But I'm a pragmatist. The real answer is maybe. It all depends on what has happened or is happening.

If Laporte and Young Gullit leave, then obviously, Yes! But if we need to dump someone to to make space to get him, then Meh, Nah!

I hope not. He isn't the last defender available in the market. Even, then, no. I would prefer bringing back Eric Garcia if the backline is in a desperate state.

I really hope not. He is the only player I can think of that I dislike because hes dirty and because of what he did to kdb in the ucl final

Keep this dirty c**t away from our team. Absolutely decked KDB 100% knew what he was doing. Kompany wouldn’t have stood for that

No fucking way. Major top of the line ****. A player not beneath injuring other players on the pitch for a result.

Even if putting that aside, he has only came into the form under Tuchel playing in a back 3. He had been ass in a back 4 prior to Tuchel.

What, why?
Him and Gundo always get along in the national team
I don’t know, there’s something confrontational about him. Maybe it’s him twatting a teammate during training that’s putting me off. Don’t think he’d enjoy playing second fiddle to Ruben, and if it’s all about wages, unlikely to fit our wage structure (yes, I know you don’t believe in such things from the Haaland thread).

He’d provide an edge we would undoubtedly lose when Dinho hangs up the boots
There is that. You look through our squad and we don’t have an enforcer when Dinho’s gone. He’s always been subtle in the dark arts though. Are professional footballers really intimidated by the kind of nonsense Rudiger displayed against Leeds? I’m not sure we need one of those as our strength comes from the collective. Look at Rodri and the team’s reaction after that Arsenal goal. Together.

We have three centrebacks better than him. Maybe all three aren't better than the form he showed for the second half of last season but that form isn't something he's shown consistently over the course of his career.

He's decent and whoever gets him will probably be better for it but the rumoured wages are laughable and we have no need.

I think you misunderstand my points from my days in the Haaland thread. I think Haaland fits in our wage structure easily when you have KdB at the top on his numbers, it is waiting for a worldclass striker to come in above him (just like it happened at Chelsea btw, and will happen with Madrid when Mbappe arrives). However, it may surprise you, I do think Rudiger’s wage demands COULD be an issue for him to come to us. Still, I think he would be or have been a good signing

no, for a number of reasons i will rank from most important to least important

1. he's extremely overrated, not that good and I think won't perform well for city
2. his salary demands are outrageous
3. I don't see why we need a CB, just keep laporte.
4. he's a dirty **** on the pitch that goes beyond just "roughing people up"

Yes. Good defender and we need some steel in the side. Apart from Fern, Dias and Cancelo, most of our team are too soft and don’t get stuck in to little shits like Salah and Henderson and any rag player when they need roughing up.
