It makes sense if Laporte or Ake wants to leave only if one of those two leave. the Club saves money signing Rudiger on a free. It would cost a lot less to get Rudiger in as a replacement for one of those two, rather than go haggle with Sevilla for Kounde or another club who’d ask for 70 million plus for their CB.
