Any boiler engineers on here?

Question.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know why my Nest Thermostat starts my Ideal Combi Boiler even when it's offline and the Wifi isn't on? The schedule is blank as well. Came home yesterday afternoon and the heating was on.
Have you tried turning it off and in again?

Boiler frost stat kicking in when it drops below around 5degrees? Is your boiler in a garage?

Mines leaking water drops underneath

I'm guessing its a valve inside the boiler but i can't be sure

there some water thats leaked through floor and into wall it seems, not as bad as it sounds.

but got a repair guy coming to have a look in morning.

any experts that can roughly tell me the cost damage ?

It’s (genuinely) hard to say without knowing what is actually leaking and make of boiler bud, could be something that just needs a bit of PTFE and nipping up, a washer replacing, or a diverted valve needing replacing (get a lot of leaks on those over time as they’re a constantly opening/closing moving part), could be something where you may have to strip parts down just to get to.

Then there’s the area you live, I think you may possibly live in/around the M25 ? In which case you’ll need an extension on your mortgage for.

It’s easy to say shop around, but once the engineer’s there, finds out what it is, gives you a quote (which will likely be on the high side) if you say “no thanks”, then you have to go shopping round again having likely paid him for his diagnoses etc , but at least you’ll be able to price any parts, but is it worth it.

My condenser pipe has some sort of issue. Wall outside is piss wet through all the time.
Will it just need adjusting so the drip misses the wall?
