Airbnb is the cheapest way. I used to drive down from Aberdeen and just drive back after the match, I never sleep well in a strange bed so may as well head home. I'm pretty sure there was a few that travelled from that area

Pride weekend and all hotels gone up since covid too it seems, London anyway my usual ones doubled.

I stayed twice at the Britannia near the Airport. The only reason I stayed twice was because I booked the second visit before I had my first 'experience'.

The Britannia is without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was dirty, the TV did not work. There was a general aura of decay about the place.

We usually stay at the Ibis on Princess Street or on Portland Street, Failing that the Mercure or Ibis Styles in Piccadilly. If driving, we usually use the Travelodge out at Ashton Moss. There is a tram direct to the stadium.

I've swerved Britannia hotels since staying at one in Wolverhampton over 10 years ago. "Grubby" would be the kind description.
