Milner is loved by many on here for being hard working. We never seem to play well away when he starts.

Yeah, I take it you missed the 1-6, behave FFS !

That's was an age ago ffs

same player,different tactics.

southampton dictated play and we didnt do anything to change it.

they frustrated every single player, not just milner.

He has been very average since then
Away from home I would have Milner in the centre of the midfield with yaya and fern. He always puts a shift in but lacks the cutting edge creativity we need. Navas, nasri or silva would then be free to play on the flanks with one up front.

So what's the point of playing him he cannot pass .

He can pass and he gets right in the opponents faces. Put it this way Milner is five times the player Garcia is and would protect the defence much better as well as adding to the attacks.

He cannot pass he needs 2 touches to bring the ball under control, plenty of endeavour very little technical ability. Morph Garcia and Milner you get a half decent player

Where does this myth that Milner is a good central midfielder come from? I read it all the time on here, yet I can't remember him having a single game of note for us playing there and whenever he plays there for England he stands out as being technically deficient (which isn't good considering who he's playing with) Is it really based on his Villa days? If that's the case then maybe we should invest in Stewart Downing and Ashley Young to play on the wings for us and maybe see if James Collins is doing anything these days

He is English runs about a lot if you ever watch closely Silva Nasri YaYa give him the ball as a last resort

His best form came from playing in the middle for Villa, he showed enough ability for City to fork out 20 million to sign him yet we play him everywhere but central midfield. Baffling.

-- Sun Dec 08, 2013 9:28 pm --

Not at keeping possession. Or sitting in front of the defence.
