Anybody back from Kiev yet?

Kiev is a God forsaken shithole, populated by miserable fuckers. The locals give an air of downtrodden resentment and whilst one or two of them may have given out free vodka etc etc, the walk to and from the ground was like going back 30 years. I didn't see anyone get smacked, but the general atmosphere outside suggested it could happen at any moment.

Plenty of pretty girls around, but if you've been to London recently, you'll see plenty there as well. Drink is cheap, but it really doesn't make up for all of the downside.
Queue's for everything, corrupt police and fucking cold. Spike's trip was, as ever, well organised and good vale, but I would not recommend Kiev to anybody.

Glad you had a nice time

Wouldnt have missed it for the World, sure it is a bit of a shithole.
But when we are in the Champions League it will be Madrid/Barcelona/Paris/
Copenhagen/ Marseille / Lisbon over and over again.
Great to get to places like Poznam/Salzburg/Saolnika/Kiev, places that you
would probably never get to.

First impressions of Kiev: having to get through 30 odd taxi drivers offering to rip you off, then realising the next bus was ages and going back to get good price. Then driving past Bentley dealership, Lambo, Porche too before found our digs. Being followed by security guard from amazing Palace Hotel and being GIVEN a Kiev key ring! Getting spot checked by police and then being asked "do you have present for Kiev Police?"... you guessed it, he didn't like the key ring. searching for Bar at 2am and thanks to police directing us to Vodka Bar , absolutely amazing time, felt like going back and giving copper a fiver! Photos were taken so fellow blues can appreciate the standard of ladies. Outstanding. Danced bollox off. O'Brians singing brilliant before game.Escorted all way back to Vodka Bar by police after game (lets leave that one) and getting recognised as party animal and got VIP'd in! Finding travel mate Jimbo didn't get in due to carrying a huge inflatable banana and avalanche of blues inevitably got turned away. Nightcap in Obrians and entertaining time in late cafe. PS Vodka Bar closes at 6am so pace yourself if you ever go.
Only bad news some lads on Gatwick flight back today told me they got jumped by about 20 locals, all bumps and scratches, nothing too serious. Didn't have any mither myself

Are you the lad the was at the Obolan game on Friday?

Great trip, got back at 1.30 this morning. Some very drunk people in the ground, how one lad did not split his head open with all the falling over was a miracle!!! Did anyone ever find the Wilcox guy??
No trouble at all, found the majority of Ukranians really friendly even tho they could not speak a word of English (lots of pointing and smiling). Bloody Monopoly money had notes everywhere!!!

Back for 9:20 although there was a crash, which slowed traffic down, I think we missed the worst of it but I wouldn't be surprised if it backed up a long way.

Left Tom and his onions in Manchester. Like you said great City and a great trip lets just hope there are a couple more this season. Hopefully I will have recovered in time for the next round
