Anybody Been On A Cruise ?

I can see why someone would book a cruise around say Italy but wouldn't it be better to fly there and tour by car or train? That way you would be eating and drinking the local food & drink plus sampling the nightlife of the city rather than whats provided by the ship. Maybe it wouldn't be as relaxing but it would be more exciting.

doing both is ideal

When I hit 60 and decide that my life is officially over I might think about taking a cruise.
Next summer then?
Fully booked and paid for. Can't wait. We start out at Rhyl and take the steamer across the Baring Straits to San Fransisco and spend a week there doing the 'scene'...clubs, parks, white vest top shops etc etc before catching the Sandbanks chain ferry to the Isle of Man where we spend 4 days sitting on a bench saying "what a nice harbour" and then 3 weeks on a boat sloshing around in a swimming pool full of sick whilst eating my OWN FACE to keep the boredom at bay.

We've done around 6 cruises so far... Love them!

I am duty driver when in Florida but on a cruise you simply walk out of your stateroom to dinner and the bar!!

Plus if you choose the right itinerary you see a new view outside your window most mornings...

Booked another trans-Atlantic for March

Can't recommend them highly enough

Quite fancy a transatlantic one next year. Any advice?

Did the Queen Mary 2 transatlantic a couple of years ago. I thought it might be a bit boring, as there are no stops, but surprisingly, it was the most relaxing week I've ever had.
You don't even have to miss a match, as they show so many live matches in the pub, which is the focal point of the ship.

We have been on about 20 cruises. The best holiday and value for money you can get.

Thinking about retiring at 55 in 4 years time... We're going to do a half world cruise then,,,, end up in Oz and spend some time down under
