Been to Gumbet, Kusadasi, Marmaris and Olu Deniz. Never had any problems there, and nowadays the police take a very dim view to Turks pestering holidaymakers into buying stuff. As for trouble, that could happen anywhere really.

Paragliding from the Badabag mountain, 6000ft high over Olu Deniz is one of the best adrenaline rush I've ever had, and no potential terrorist threat will stop me going back.

Went in June and going back again in two weeks, willing to admit I'd think it unlikely that I'll ever step foot in Marmaris again, but each to their own. I'm heartened by the amount of people who state they'll never step foot in the country. Turkey and its secular people deserve better than dealing with those whose opinion on a place is blinkered before even having set foot there.
