Anyone been to Turkey this year?

You'll love it. Been to Kalkan in September for 7 years on the bounce but last year was cancelled so we're going twice this year, May and September. Always wondered what it was like earlier in the year so this year we're going to find out.

Keep an eye out for the turtles which hang around the harbour and public beach. My girlfriend got some fantastic underwater footage of them last time we were there.

Dropped a bollock though. Exchange rate last time we went was 8 lire to the pound so when it went to 10 I went against my better instincts and bought £750 worth. Now it's nearer 20 so I've lost £370 on my only ever foray into currency speculation. And, on that note, take sterling with you as just about any shop will give you a better exchange rate than you can get here.
Cheers mate, I’m going to go with whatever her Dad recommends (although atm it’s similar to what BinSA suggests, anything but Turkish Lira).

Always loved Turkey. Went about 30 times over the years. My favourite is Kalkan. Most beautiful place, cobbled pedestrianised streets, boutiques and loads of roof top restraints overlooking the harbour. Stunning. Oulez deniz is also worth a shout. Fethye is worth avoiding. Only place my wife has been hassled on the street. The eat-in fish market there is superb though. My wife now prefers Cavtat in Croatia so have not been back since 2014. Miss the place and people.

I did this back in 2006. Jumping off was the best option. I wasn't going back down that track. Scary as fck...
Lol I first went late 80s they were landing around large rocks on the beach then . Nothing there but a few beach bars , beautiful beach & camping . unbe how it’s ended up now .

I did it the same year, the weather turned whilst we were on the top. I'm shit scared of heights. They decided it was too dangerous to jump and we would have to drive down, I was practically running off the top rather than get back on that bus. One of the best things I've ever done.

I was tandem with this guy who turned out to be the national freestyle champion. After 45 minutes getting up above 9000 ft he asked if I was bored (I was a bit) and we went into a deep spiral dive. Brilliant stuff but probably not the wisest thing. Surprised how many had puked from a height in my party (I didn't). Never trusted sitting on that beach again...
