Anyone else sick of hearing from our gobby players?

You can't treat players badly no matter how much they're paid, or whether they're under contract.
You can't expect to treat them badly but expect them to keep their mouths shut and toe the line.

I mean look at Bellamy, look at Given, no one tries harder than them, no one gives more, no one will work harder for the jersey than they will. I meam all they have said is that they desperately want to stay and play with the club. Whatever about Bellamy, Given is deffinetly not the type to speak out the way he did.

Treating players badly only ends badly, regardless of contracts or how much they're paid.
They're not robots, you gotta realise that these guys aren't just puppets.

How have they been treated badly? If Given isn't picked he's been treated badly, has he? It's part and parcel of professional football. You don't get picked every week. Being treated badly would be being sent to train with the kids, or not getting paid, it certainly isn't not getting picked...

I didn't say not getting picked is being treated badly, but players don't respond well to being cut off, not being talked to, communicated well enough to. These days people think that just because they get a nice wage they should put up and shut up and people forget that these guys are just lads wanting more than anything to play football.
Look at what's gone on, look at what happened at Newcastle, what happened at Chelsea, more than once, what just happened at Villa..etc.
At City we're so focused at trying to turn us into Madrid that we're forgetting what it's really about and the strong core of this team is being pushed out, or feels it anyone and the new, hot tipped, in demand young players are being brought in and are packing the club with countless number of players, and ye're surprised players are worried about their position when there's so many "stars" packed into this club.

We were asking for it to happen, Mancini knew this would happen.

Bobby Manc needs to be as hard as fuck with these players - nobody would speak out at Manure because Taggart wouldn't have it.

My take is this, I support the club, I support the manager - whoever that may be.

I'll support all the players while wearing our shirt, but I don't care whether they come or go anymore, it's back to supporting the manager; he knows what's going on in training etc, if he gives them the shirt I'll shout and scream for them. If they don't give 100% they won't wear the shirt and they can fuck off.

This season my kid's shirts have been printed with their own name and their football team squad number, the number of shirts we've got over the last couple of season with names of players that are no longer, or with changed squad numbers.... the club's bigger than anyone player, loyalty has gone, signing a contract means fuck all.

Some players will get cult status and deservedly so, the rest are getting paid to do a job and don't give a fuck about us or the club.

I can't wait for the season to start and then the squad deadline day to arrive and the window closing, then we can enjoy supporting City and stop hearing all this crap in the media about signings, moaning fuckers etc... at least until it all starts again in January.

This is just what you think, but you express it as fact.
erwhat strong core are being pushed out? our mid table quality players you mean?

you really need to support the club more than certain players,

Mancini have not picked the 25 men squad yet, so no reason for players to moan just yet.

I'm not saying it as fact, nobody knows what goes on behind the scenes but the team itself. But I have seen it before, what happens when players are not treated well and things get out of hand. It doesn't end well.

-- Wed Aug 11, 2010 2:59 pm --

And it had to happen if we want to challenge at the top.

No, United manage to do it keeping a handle on things, some excellent players but squad players as well that will work hard and push their way into the team.
The same with Chelsea and Arsenal. etc.
He's bought all these top class player, but here, it's like he's trying to turn City into Real Madrid. He's trying to make a dream team, all these top qualities players, but top class players doesn't make a top class team.

Look at United, look at Liverpool, Arsenal, succesfull teams, but not a lot of actually top quality individual players. You can't expect to keep buying top players, adding to a massive squad without having players getting worried about loosing out.

Whilst there is some credence in what you say, Techno is right to say that we should support the manager and not take the side of the players in this, which is what you're doing. This happened under Sven when the players had all the power and treated the club like a holiday camp and we end the season getting stuffed 8-1. Mancini is right to assert his authority in this and it shows a lack of tact and discipline on the part of the players to respond in the mard-arsed way that they are. I, for one, still think Bellamy has a good chance of getting into the squad and still has because Mancini will not react to his childish, self-serving out burst by acting in a childish, self-serving way as he, at least, has the interests of the club at heart.

I am. They all knew the score when they signed. They knew we would be recruiting heavily over the next 2/3 seasons and aiming for big things. No doubt they negotiated a higher rate of pay to compensate for the fact they might not play every week too, but now, after another recruitment drive they start running to the press. It would be interesting to know if Roberto knew anything about Shays plan to leave if he isn't number one BEFORE he heard it on TV? Sky TV will ask the questions but the players don't need to answer them.

Agreed sick of the players chatting shit about this and that. You get paid mega bucks to do a job, do it. sure not everybody likes parts of there jobs but if everytime they felt down about it they went to the press or other colleagues and started bad mouthing the mangagment ud get the sack with much less pay so how about the players go to the management rather than some shit arse newspaper! not that I trust what they say either.
