Anyone else think we have missed Danilo

I quite liked Danilo but believe we have a player for the future in Cancelo.

I think a big mistake was made letting Danilo go. He was quietly efficient in whatever position he played in. Cancelo looks nowhere near the player Danilo is. Last two seasons he filled in for injuries and suspensions and always did a top job except maybe the odd time he was tried at left back. Very underrated in my opinion.

Ask yourself how many games did he play in the last season he was with us and that will give you the answer you seek.

I've a lot of respect for Danilo who I thought generally played well for us, but so did most players over the last two seasons.
I dare say he would have been useful during our injury run but I don't think he was ever the dominant figure who would have made a huge difference to our current run of indifferent form.
Plus he wanted out, plus we are at our max of overseas players, I can't say he's clearly better than any fully fit member of our current squad.
