Anyone fancy us for 5th next season?

i think 4th is abit above the belt ('above the belt?' :( - is that even a saying!?), i would be more than happy with 6th and a europa league place, and go for top 4 season after and champs league place. we've been told time and time again this isnt gona happen quickly, and top 4 is a MASSIVE Achievement to get there in the next 2 seasons. i dont think we should all put our targets so high so early; just to be disappointed at the end of the season.

I think this year is going to be more about staying healthy, Micah Richards returning to form, and team chemistry than who we sign. Who we sign will have more of an impact on the following year.

I'm amazed that some of you thinking we can just waltz in with a few signings and take a top 4 place. The top 4 have developed over years and will continue to be the star attraction for Europes best. As for the rest do you think Moyes Everton or Redknapp are going to just lay down for us. No they will continue to develop under the stewardship of their excellent managers. We don't know how good Hughes is yet and any new players will take 1/4 or even 1/2 a season to gel together anyway. And if anyone says Mourinho"s Chelsea did it in a short time it doesn't hold water i'm afraid because that team was developing under Raneiri and some say Vialli. Don't get me wrong I'm excited as any blue because we will get there playing some brazilianesque football but I believe patience is needed and were going to have to wait 5 years before we're top 4 quality. Anyone else think like this ?

I think we will make a huge mistake by buying a lot of players this year, realistically I think we need one world class striker and if it takes spending 2 months to find him then sobeit possibly the signing of one CB would be useful. If we can get rid of a lot of the dead weight and get a slim and efficient squad then we would be in with a great chance of doing well, the most important thing is starting well because if we can do that then we should be able to get to January still in touch with 4th. Then reasses and maybe bring in a few players to bolster our chances, then the top 4 start having games flying at them left right and centre we would have 1 a week.

I agree. We need stability and that includes on the pitch. Signing too many players will just disrupt the team too much. The centre forward is the big one.

if we get two top quality strikers, or even one prolific one with all round attributes then i believe our first 11 is better than arsenals.
You sure? Clichy, Toure, Fabregas, Nasri, Adebayor, Eduardo and Van Persie would all get in our team
haha if they all do well probably be playing 2,4,4,

its all about our away form, jus think if we won 5-7 games away last year, we'd be in a decent position.

im confident if we can sort that we'll be fine....

but it is city......u never know! !! :)
