Anyone good at algebra?

if its something times something then you add the like powers (eg. a(squared) times a(cubed)= a to the power 5)
if its something divided by something then you minus the like powers (eg. a(cubed) divided by a(squared)= a)

and also if its times then times the numbers before it (eg. 3a times 2a = 6a (squared))

only add or minus like powers though (eg. a(squared)b(squared) times a(cubed)b(cubed) = a(to the 5)b(to the 5))

Couldnt do it at school, still carnt do it at the age off 33, never been in a job interview and been asked can i do algebra, never needed it in the few jobs ive had, dont know anyone who needs to learn it other than those who wanna be a maths teacher.....

Biggest load of bullshit since Mr IQ invented E=MC squared, what the fook is all that about......

I'm not a maths teacher. I use it on a daily basis.

And quite seriously, that last sentence has made me lose more faith in the future of humanity.

Einstein came up with the E=mc2 in one of his Annus Mirabilis papers, and it fully explained the relationship between mass and energy. It equates to this:

Energy = mass x speed of light squared.

Basically mass (weight (well, sort of)) and energy are pretty much the same thing, and led to the discovery of things such as the atomic bomb. There's a good explanation of it here: http://www.worsleyschool.net/science/fi ... /emc2.html

I implore you to at least read it, this was one of the greatest discoveries that science has ever made and explained a large part of how the universe (and essentially, humanity) came to be. Bertrand Russell once said (paraphrasing):

"Those who truly understand Einstein's work, will finally be free from their relaince on religion and the supernatural. Einstein essentially unlocked the keys to the universe, and with it, a new dawn in the age of reason"

If you'd like to help out a fellow blue, do you mind doing these please?

1) 2a(squared)b(times)3a(cubed)b(squared)

2) 3a(squared)b(cubed)(times)2a(cubed)b(erm, a little 4?)

3) 4a(squared)b-2ab(squared)

4) 12a(squared)(times)3b(squared)

5) 15a(squared)b(cubed)(times)3a(cubed)b
9a(cubed)b(squared)

6) 2a(squared)(times)3a(squared)

Thanks, A LOT.

It is SO well appreciated, you cant even imagen.

(btw number 5 is the top line divided by the bottom line)

Seriously, thanks to anyone that answers.
Are you taking the fooking pi$$?

lol

And look where it got you. Had to get a trawler to the Faroes when the people who did their algebra flew there.

TBH id of done what de niro did, even if i owned a fooking plane......
Clearly you had the same attitude to English lessons that deNiro did to Algebra. ;-)

And don't call me TBH!

1. 6a(to the 5)b(cubed)

2. 6a(to the 5)b(to the 7)

3. have you wrote this down wrong?

4. 36a(squared)b(squared)

5. 5a(squared)b(squared)

6. 6a(to the 4)

i think

Yup, it ='s a 3 match ban!

why is everyone using 5(squared) instead of just writing 5^2?

I kinda thought thats how everyone writes exponents down online?
(i just wanted to use the word exponent really)

but my point still stands
